Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday said President Biden’s “daydreams” of a “sweeping socialist legacy” will “never happen” — responding to the White House’s proposal for a $1.8 trillion social spending and tax hike plan.
The “American Families Plan” would finance universal preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds and free community college, as well as subsidize child care and 12 weeks of paid sick and family leave.

As the ersatz opposition party, Mitch has to pretend he opposes this stuff.
That’s been the purpose of the GOP since 1989, assisting the Democrats while appearing to oppose them.
I remember reading a couple of weeks ago that members of the Senate GOP have a hard time saying anything negative about Ol Joe or opposing his agenda because he is so likeable and amiable - just more kabuki that nobody is buying any more.....

Exactly right. This country is already socialist thanks to people like Mitch and his ilk. Our overbearing government controls, taxes, regulates, and influences nearly every aspect of American life and the economy. The GOP did nothing to arrest the expansion of government.

Why stop with community colleges, make them all free, Harvard, Yale all of them!
