First they would have to negotiate the meaning of the word “infrastructure”.

Wicker is yet another limp-wristed, entrenched RINO.

Mississippi badly needs to primary him out of office.

It’s a little like an inmate saying he is willing to negotiate with the warden.

Right, and strip everything out of the bill except roads, bridges, airports etc. But even at that it would just be one massive boondoggle with over priced contract payoffs to friends, relatives, donors and other assorted democrat scum. There would be never ending construction, cost over runs, shoddy workmanship with inferior materials and the whole thing having to be redone as soon as it’s finished, payoff to unions etc. It’s just the corrupt Chicago model scaled up to the national level. Call me cynical.

There is a scenario where the only thing that passes is a real infrastructure bill, sub-$1 trillion, with funding from either a carbon/gas tax or no funding at all. If it looks like it’s going that way, many Republicans will jump on board.

They want a half trillion bill, not a near 2 trillion plus bill. But yeah, if it was me, I would be dead set against ‘working’ with the Left, period. No bargaining, no talks, nothing, nada.

The negotiating starting point should begin with cutting 80% of the federal government. These RINOs have no clue. Just by saying they are willing to negotiate for a smaller package they have conceded to yet another massively useless bill, filled with socialism, social/racial justice, and climate change bull schiff. Republicans are nothing more than pussies. They are assistant Democrats.

Republicans were willing to negotiate with President Joe Biden on his infrastructure package.

Normally this means they'll give Democrats anything they want. Or, they'll get Democrats to cut $2 billion worth of useful spending if Republicans will agree to adding $10 billion worth of pork.
