Dr. Amy Acton, the former state health director whose entry into the U.S. Senate race in Ohio had been highly anticipated, said Tuesday she will not run, after all.
Acton, a Democrat, would have brought limited political experience to the race but strong name recognition gained from appearing alongside Republican Gov. Mike DeWine on widely watched virus briefings last year that aired daily online and on television.
Acton, 55, did not address the reasons behind her decision in a statement. Rather, she used it to urge Ohioans play a role in the shape of the state’s and nation’s future, noting that “much has been exposed and revealed” by the coronavirus pandemic the public health expert helped fight.
“Yet as we cautiously re-emerge this spring, we dare to hope that a new way is possible. The opportunity for repairing and reimagining is at hand: a rebirth for ourselves, our relationships, and for the institutions of our civil society,” Acton’s statement read. “What happens next isn’t the sole province of our elected officials. It is up to all of us. We must co-create an Ohio that ensures the enduring cultural values of kindness and justice for all.”

Ryan is a Democrat. Your writing & lack of punctuation make it near impossible to understand what you are writing. Why are there so many people on our side arguing that a Democrat would be better than a Republican anyways. Thats how we handed Georgias Senate seats away. There’s no one on here that could seriously justify that Loeffler & Perdue would have been a worse choice than the communist Democrats that got elected because of kamikaze morons on our side throwing hissy fits 🙄
Good news! Acton was a Dictator DeWine butt kisser and sounded like a Valley Girl when she spoke. In fact, she sounded like a total dolt who got her “doctor” pedigree from the same place as Jill.
As for the Senate Race, I saw Timken on the War Room...what a mealy-mouthed weakling. She’s not a Conservative, she’s part of the RINO Establishment. I think she’d be Ohio’s answer to Lisa Murkowski.

Mandel dropped out of the Senate race in 2018 due to his wife’s illness.

She couldn’t take the criticism for the job she doing as Ohio’s Quack-in-Chief. She would get even more heat from outside groups if she ran for office. Now if only De-whiner can get primaried out.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that Ohio runs clean elections.
Donald Trump's share of the vote in this swing state went from 51.3% in 2016 to 53.2% in 2020.
I'm guessing the same trend would've shown up nationwide if we ran honest elections.

Dr. Acton has no business being in politics. She was frequently tearing up or crying on the televised weekly Covid updates with Governor Dewine. Things got so stressful she resigned her post as Ohio’s Health Director
I know the article is from 2018 and that Mandel is still in the race now.

DeWiner has screwed this whole Race up. He caught everyone by surprise when he announced he would run for re-election.
Jon Husted would have run for Portman’s seat if he knew the senile, corrupt RINO DeWiner was running for Governor.
This Senate Race is going to be a real mess, split between conservatives and backers of DeWiner.
