"Crimea was traditionally Russian."

Crimea was, as long as you believe every Tartar wanted to belong to the Soviet Union. Arguable.

But the territory Putin claimed in West Ukraine was most definitely not traditionally "Russian", given the Soviets had purposefully resettled that area for 50 years with reliable 'White Russian Bolshevik' families -- it was a desirable AWARD -- and Putin should not be awarded for that, but rather deliberately driven out of eastern Ukraine and forced to eat the dust from 100 T-80s leaving Ukraine proper, with all the illegal Soviet emigres hanging off the sides.

Otherwise, anyone who accepts Putin's claim on the eastern Ukraine, must also by this absurd logic accept Mexico's ludicrous verbal claim on Aztlan now -- given that their 'resettlement' is a 100-year-old communist conquest scheme; or even moreso, the same claim that Democrats/Mex/OAN/UN will make by their internal US insurrection in 10 years, which will only be settled by a North American Union treaty from Karamela serving her 2nd term (after the 2-year term she deposed from Xiden coming up faster than you can think).

Freaklin Delanor Karamelavelt L. O. F. L.

You gotta think like a Demoncrat ALWAYS, ALWAYS look to their 5-year, 10-year, 50-year horizon.

If Russia invades Ukraine, will the Biden money operation end? That alone might cause Biden to panic enough into sending troops.

************

Money usually is the reason we send our troops in. And why we keep them there. Mission Creep costs lives but it is profitable. That is the criteria by which we too often get engaged in foreign adventures.

Why should conservatives support Ukraine?

************

Exactly right, why support corruption? How can that be a good thing?

This crisis dates back to 2014 when Crimea ... voted ... to become a province of the Russian Federation.
Or earlier: to how the boundaries were set on the break up of the Soviet Union.

“Don’t those Ukrainian people know they are surfs of the Kremlin... Sheesh, how many centuries will it take for those pesky surf Ukrainian’s to get the message...?

- And the same goes for Moldova and Romania as well!”

Hey, there’s some serf fans here, big time. They pray in front of their Putin idol, usually in full KGB uniform daily.

“Ukraine is going to be run by someone...”

Well, apparently they didn’t get your memo. So i guess they will continue to fight the outside Russian aggression.

“Kiev was overthrown by a violent western Ukrainian mob.”

I’m always fascinated by the old Soviet-style propaganda. Not impressed by fascinated.

There was no such mob. There were peaceful protests in the dead of winter. That hardly qualifies as analogous to the BLM Marxists here.

“Putin’s invasion has backfired as the people of Ukraine push back against anything Russian”

https://www.miamiherald.com/opinion/op-ed/article218932165.html#storylink=cpy

Now why do you have to bring up the people? You’re hurting the feelings of a lot of Soviet and KGB Putin fans.

Bidet is the most pathetic “President” in the history of the US— both Russia and China know now is the time to make their move....

*************

I don’t know about that. We might launch our Diversity & Inclusion forces to stop them. The power of wokeness. LOL

I don’t quite see that. Trump was (or tried to be) a realist about the world - particularly Russia and China. I believe he wanted more agreement with Russia, and spend US energy focusing on containing China. But it seems the US deep state, for whatever reason, absolutely insists on trying to break Russia.
It's my view that the powers-that-be want to break Putin not Russia. That's because, following the collapse of the Soviet Union the intention was for the country to be run for the benefit of the same folks who have their fingers in Ukraine. But, rightly or wrongly, Putin had other ideas.
In that respect, Putin and Trump have something in common - neither were the annointed ones!

And Russia is now saying - The new puppet Biden wants to call Putin a “killer” and continue pushing NATO on our borders? We’ll just finish the re-annexation of Crimea, thank you.

************

Precisely. Biden needlessly provoked a country with formidable forces and a nuclear arsenal. That alone should be grounds for impeachment because his reckless accusation against a foreign leader might well spark a very serious international incident.

Furthermore, if the U.S. is perceived as weak it could prompt new challenges from adversaries around the world.

Had Trump made an intemperate remark like this you can be sure the media would have been screaming for his immediate impeachment.

Putin and Trump have something in common - neither were the annointed ones!.

Putin was handpicked by his predecessor, Yeltsin to succeed him. Putin has also amassed an estimated 200 billion while in office while re-writing the Russian Constitution so that he can be president till 2036 when he will be 84 years old.

They were tied up in Syria for one reason and one reason only.

A naval port.

Ukraine is a spur in their backside and they want to get rid of it.

The more interesting point being made round abouts here is...What if the chicoms go after Taiwan? Why would they do that? To increase their sphere of influence in that area. Expand..etc.

Just like another asian country did years ago.

BTW, how many has those SOBs salted into this country through our southern Boarder the last years. They already basically own both ends of the Panama Canal.

Not really, it needn’t be a D-Day fleet with liberty ships, LSTs, landing craft, and shore bombardment etc. They’ll use subterfuge against the Taiwan government, isolate them with bribery in our government, and they are extremely capable of moving across and overwhelming the defenses.
And when Taiwan knows the USA is not coming to their defense, the capitulation will come quickly.

It will look very different than D-Day. And the defenses Taiwan has will be too busy with Chinese shooters to stop a mass fleet of small craft. It would start with an unbelievable rain of missiles. The Taiwanese air force will be gone in a matter of hours.

It will be a new model hybrid. Politically take the USAA out of the fight, weaken the Taiwanese government in some creative ways, find an excuse, then just do it.

A nice time to do it would be when America is stricken by a crushing currency collapse, (which they help engineer).

That was no longer the case when Svoboda and Right Sector moved in. Then it went violent, firebombing cops, and eventually storming the legislature and demanding new laws at gunpoint.

Even Congress admitted it. https://consortiumnews.com/2015/06/12/u-s-house-admits-nazi-role-in-ukraine/

Then there was the mass murder the Kiev crew launched in Odessa where they burned anti-coup protesters alive in a building. There was nothing peaceful about them.

anyone who accepts Putin's claim on the eastern Ukraine

Are you referring to Donetsk? Russian separatists took it over and declared an autonomous region. Russia backs the separatists. Beyond that, I don't if there is any evidence of Russia seeking to go any further into Ukraine.

The Russian invasion in eastern Ukraine (Donbas, Luhansk) has resulted in 13,500 deaths and 1.5 million Ukrainians refugees.

Invasion or those living in that region that want to be either autonomous or part of Russia?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donetsk

On 7 April 2014, pro-Russian activists seized control of Donetsk OSA and declared the "Donetsk People's Republic",[27] asking for Russian intervention.
