Workers at a Baltimore plant manufacturing two coronavirus vaccines accidentally conflated the vaccines’ ingredients several weeks ago, ruining about 15 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine and forcing regulators to delay authorization of the plant’s production lines.
The plant is run by Emergent BioSolutions, a manufacturing partner to both Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca. Federal officials attributed the mistake to human error.
The mixup has halted future shipments of Johnson & Johnson doses in the United States while the Food and Drug Administration investigates. Johnson & Johnson has moved to strengthen its control over Emergent BioSolutions’ work to avoid further quality lapses.
The mistake is a major embarrassment for Johnson & Johnson, whose one-dose vaccine has been credited with speeding up the national immunization program.

A day in the life of Doug Gaines...

good man. God Bless Douglas Keith Gaines. R.I.P., sir. love
Wow, costly freakin mistake!
Ping
How many made it out the door and into the human test rats’ arms?
Pardon my ignorance but who is Douglas Keith Gaines?
We were slated for 200,000 doses...cut back to 60,000 for this mixup.
Well... IT IS BALTIMORE. ‘Nuff said!
This is the one and done shot I believe. I’d consider it only because I’m 65 and don’t care if I grow a 3rd eye. No 2 shots for me.
One could wonder if outside agents wanting to delay the more conventional vaccine’s issuance in favor of the mRNA or nanotech offerings could be involved.
"Hey, you got Johnson & Johnson in my AstraZeneca!"
"Hey, you got AstraZeneca in my Johnson & Johnson!"
"Mmmm... Two great vaccines that work great together."
Obviously Trump’s fault.
None. The next line of the article:
“It does not affect Johnson & Johnson doses that are currently being delivered and used nationwide. All those doses were produced in the Netherlands, where operations have been fully approved by federal regulators.”
The US-made doses were waiting to be checked and approved. Pretty sad when “US-made” = crap and we’re having to buy doses made by people most famous for wooden shoes, dikes and windmills. :P
Douglas Keith Gaines is my daughter-in-laws father. I will be attending his services tomorrow, Good Friday.
I’m glad you asked, traderrob6.
Too bad Cummings is dead he would get to the bottom of this pronto..

Fail.
As long as the people working in this factory are diverse, shouldn’t “little mistakes” like this be excused? /s
I really don’t like that the Johnson and Johnson uses the same tech as the Astrazeneca that causes severe blood clots and death. It’s based on the same platform. There was a story yesterday about a severe side effect of J&J similar to Steven Johnsons Syndrome where a poor man’s entire body turned red and swollen and all his skin peeled off. He had to go to the Hospital for days and looked like a legit burned tomato.
I think the MRNA vaccines have a much better safety profile with 500 Million doses than J&J and Astrazeneca frankly.
“Workers at a Baltimore plant...”
REAL consequences when you’re required to make your workforce ‘look like Baltimore’. Bummer for those who hoped to get the vaccine.
“This is the one and done shot I believe. I’d consider it only because I’m 65 and don’t care if I grow a 3rd eye. No 2 shots for me.”
The 3rd eye is less of a side effect than the growth of horns, so you might to consider that also.
