One sport that has been booming during the pandemic is the Pro Golf Tour. I never watched baseball or football except for playoffs but golf just seems to be interesting in every tournament. I think what attracts me is that it is individualistic and about personal mastery rather than simulated warfare between competing tribes. The payoffs are set up to reward the truly best players based on performance each week and not on some future contract.

Also, the players are just really nice mellow people who still understand sportsmanship and respect the game which isn’t always the case with contact sports. Here’s evidence for my assertion.

Golf is a good walk spoiled. (Twain)

Can honestly say that i’ve never seen an angry golfer play well.

If I can ever tear myself away from watching pro bowling I’ll give the golf channel a shot.

Moment of silence for George Floyd on PGA Tour

They just couldn't help themselves.
