For years, the estimate of gays was 3 to 5pct of the US population. Now I see that 16pct of Gen Z say they are?
Leads me to think this increase is a social, not biological, trend.
It’s just so hip, gets you an extra scoop of attention and affords you a special bludgeoning weapon.

More seriously, and sadly, I had a neighbor who was told by one of his sons at age 40 that he was transitioning from beta male to female. So, I delicately asked, "Afterwords, will he be dating men or will he be dating women." To which, the neighbor sadly replied, "He wants to be a lesbian."

It has always been a social trend, not a biological one. That's why they gave up searching for a genetic cause (because there isn't one)and just played the Lady GaGa song over and over again until the "Born That Way" lie became the "truth."

When the subject came up, old brucie had a moment where he told the truth: As a man dressed up like a woman he still wanted women. But since he was a woman he could only get lesbians, who want bio women. And if he wanted a man that would mean he was gay.
