Everyone's entitled to their fantasies, I suppose. Ben Ginsberg, a Republican election lawyer, fierce Trump critic, and CNN legal analyst, has his: a witness who would testify at the Senate impeachment trial that President Trump told him to storm the Capitol.
Ginsberg twice shared his fantasy on CNN's New Day this morning. Asked whether he would call witnesses if he were a Democrat impeachment prosecutor, Ginsberg said his dream witness:
"Would be someone who could testify that Donald Trump actually told them to go break into the Capitol or was part of that planning . . . someone who said, yeah, we talked to Donald Trump or we talked to somebody involved in his campaign or the White House, and they told us if things didn't go right, we had to storm the building."

Well, yes, if you want to convict President Trump, such a witness would certainly be handy. But to date, there’s no evidence—not the merest hint of a hint—that such a witness exists. So how appropriate was it for Ginsberg to float such a notion?
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
I’m sure Ben Ginsberg has that “witness” and his resume from the Screen Actors Guild.
How do you storm anything without a truckload of guns? Are we back in the Stone Age, where the opposition was armed with clubs?
A good chunk of the GOP Congress views itself as our aristocratic betters. That unearned hauteur is pretty much the reason for the deranged GOP Congressional response to the unarmed sit-in being distorted beyond all recognition into an armed insurrection with their collusion. In the eyes of our Vichy Republican lords and barons, MAGA demonstrators staging a sit-in committed lese majeste - a crime against their dignity as aristocrats. We need to replace these aristocrats with people who actually want to do what we want rather than what they want. They are hawking up loogies on us while telling us it’s raining.
Actually, the ideal witness would be someone who actually saw Donald Trump shoot JFK in Dallas. Find that witness, and you’d really have Trump where you want him!!!!
Are we going to use the dictionary definition of “peacefully” or the commierat one.
There does not have to be a witness. The narrative will be that there is one and it will be reported over and over again until it becomes a fact.
Is this the same Ben Ginsburg that was floated around as, I think, GHW Bush’s Supreme Court pick ?
Egads, we dodged a fast ball on that one, if true.
They can’t quit him.
The person doesn’t even exist.
If this fraud still beating his sex boy toy?
When you have to deny it, you fail.
The media was NEVER this concerned about the Bernie Bro who DID shoot at Republican Congressmen with intent to kill, seriously wounding one.
Shouldn’t this “analyst” have phony law books behind him like on the old cop shows? Reader’s Digest Condensed Books and a few dozen popular novels with colorful book jackets looks like he hasn’t opened his mind, let alone a law book, in thirty years. Always hateful against anyone who love America. Let’s seem him prove me wrong.
And where is his blank-blank mask?
Great post. If only we had freedom of the press we could get questions like that to the ignorant masses at home.
The media is also ignoring the Puerto Rican terrorists who had their criminal convictions commuted or pardoned.
Presidents Carter, Clinton, and Obama ALL did that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Collazo
Oscar Collazo (January 20, 1914 – February 21, 1994) was one of two Puerto Rican militants of the Nationalist Party who on November 1, 1950, attempted to assassinate U.S. President Harry S. Truman in Washington, DC. He had been living in New York City after growing up in Puerto Rico.
Collazo was convicted and sentenced to death, but Truman commuted his sentence to life imprisonment. In 1979 Collazo’s sentence was commuted to time served by President Jimmy Carter. He was paroled and allowed to return to Puerto Rico.
On October 30, 1950, Torresola and Collazo learned that the Jayuya Uprising in Puerto Rico, led by the nationalist leader Blanca Canales, had failed. Torresola’s sister had been wounded and his brother Elio was arrested. Believing they had to do something for their cause, Collazo and Torresola decided to assassinate President Harry S. Truman, in order to bring world attention to the need for independence in Puerto Rico.[1][3]

President Obama’s Pardon for Oscar Lopez Rivera Trades a Terrorist for VotesJan 22nd, 2017
* In 1979, Jimmy Carter released from prison three Puerto Rican terrorists who shot at members of Congress.
* In 1999 Bill Clinton pardoned 12 members of the FALN.
* Obama’s one-time friend Bill Ayers, himself a terrorist in the 1970s, tweeted out a celebratory “Oscar Lopez freed!”
She was still calling him an illegitimate president in 2019. No “fact checking” by the media-complex.
would be a hooker that could testify that some of these legal talking heads get “rewarded” at their holiday motel rooms right after they appear on TV and utter their PC mantras
Isn’t HE inciting rage and possible Rioting in already uber Sore Winners: Dems/socialists and general America Haters?
Shouldn’t they have had the witness prior to the impeachment in the House?
Or is that another one of my old-fashioned white-privileged, cis-gendered notions of justice?
