"Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State."

"No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."

May I point out, while we’re not the topic, that what you have posted here is the Constitution basis for only counting citizens in the census.
If anyone (males only at the time)loses his privilege to vote after the census, than the apportionment calculated previously shall be recalculated to reflect the loss of the voting ability of the individual.

Huge difference, The British troops came to deny their rights and they fought back. First, there's the issue of whose rights were denied with the Jan 6th vote. That's yet to be resolved, but certainly not the rights of the capitol rioters. Second, and more important, defense is a much better position against a tyrannical government for both tactical and PR reasons. What we saw on the 6th was a pathetic offense by a bunch of boneheaded hooligans. Not to be emulated or celebrated in any way.
They seized the narrative, which is more advantageous than seizing the Capitol.

I think we have to stop telling ourselves this. Though Biden undoubtedly would lose a genuine re-canvass of actual ballots cast by actual voters, there are a lot of idiots out there who let Hollywood and the MSM do their thinking for them. With the mail-in ballots making it so easy for them to actually vote this time, it wouldn't surprise me if Biden received 70 million actual votes.

Yes going into the Capitol was wrong. However those involved were guilty of trespassing and vandalism; they certainly weren’t attempting to overthrow the government.
By contrast, suppose a “mostly peaceful” group asserts control over several square blocks of a major city and asserts that this area is an autonomous zone. They fail to recognize the authority of the city or state government. They refuse to allow police or paramedics into their zone, even to help a person in their zone who is busy bleeding to death from a gunshot wound. Just hypothetically, if something like that ever were to happen in a US city, say just off the top of my head, Seattle, would that constitute an attempted coup?
