Know anything about Retevis radios? I’ve been looking at them. Cheaper than Baofeng and some look identical. China doesn’t do patents I guess.

Retevis seems to get as good of reviews as baofeng.

Been looking at models that will do frs/gmrs, 2m and 70cm. Plan on getting a tech license in the not too distant future. Found I have a Ham repeater 5 miles from me even though I’m in the boonies.

Baofeng has a triband that covers 220 as well. I left one out in the weather (rain, freeze) for a MONTH and the only thing damaged was the mike

I have recent experience with the Retevis/Ailunce HD1 handheld. It’s dual band (VHF/UHF), and DMR... seems to be a very capability little radio so far. Although they’re most definitely not cheaper than Baofeng radios. ...nor are they easier to program.
