If You Leave the U.S. Permanently, Where Should You Go?
Daily Reckoning ^ | 12/09/11 | Gary Gibson

You see, people are fed up. Not just with economic conditions. But with the political ones. We suspect that that frustration is tinged with fear. We know it is in our case.

The state is growing outright despotic…tyrannical. You have congressmen who make no bones about telling us that we should all be subject to arrest and detention by the military. This at a time when the definition of “terrorism” is expanding to include any activity that annoys the political class.

The government has been in the business of prohibiting personal behaviors, regulating

professional ones and eating out our substance since the beginning. It’s all only gotten worse over time.

But now the state is showing its true face. And it’s so horrible that many of us feel compelled to flee for our lives.

“I took an oath the defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

As did I.

“I am not leaving it to the enemy!”

Well, they may already have it. But...as the saying goes: Viva la Resistance!

“I find the entire premise of leaving extremely insulting and offensive!”

As do I. However, If one has a family and children, one must make tough decisions. But, I have no children, and I’m an old guy. And I don’t believe in surrenders; so I’ll make my last stand here.

"Mexico is corrupt but it’s not that bad of a place to live."

I agree. When you get a couple of hundred miles south of the border it is a great place with very nice people.

Of the golden visa countries which I could afford and live in comfort:
Greece, Malta, Montenegro.

I’ve already started looking.

With perpetual election fraud, government and corporate censorship, and Biden’s forthcoming “Domestic Terrorist” re-education camps, the game is over.

“To a Christian country such as Hungary or Poland.”

I’ll never leave my country; but for anyone who feels they really have to, Poland and Hungary — but especially Poland — would be my recommendation.

Many of these courts have NOT ruled on any of this. The precedent is clear, but we are in unprecedented times.

We need to hold the line where we can and things are much worse than I ever thought I would witness, but there are only two choices and we have to give one a chance before the other.

The other choice is as ugly as ugly gets.

There are numerous abandoned homes in the interior of Japan, and a declining population that isn’t clamoring to live anywhere outside of Tokyo. OTOH I am old enough to make my last stand here, if there is any possibility of overcoming the seditionists.

I’m not going anywhere. My area/region is tremendously Pro-Conservative. (Except for my Bear Pals, they don’t like anyone!) I’d never leave America for any other Country.

From what I’ve heard, Magyar is basically impossible to learn as an adult; I have to hope Polish is a bit easier.

Nowhere you selfish prick. You have a damned duty to fight it out here. Give a good account of yourself. The founders are ashamed at the thought.

Polish is not as hard, but there is a learning curve, to learn the cases and the imperfective/perfective forms of verbs. But after awhile it actually becomes not too difficult to understand conversations.

If Texas were to secede it would become the destination for 75 million American patriots.

The Philippines has areas with large numbers of ex pats from the US. Most people in urban areas speak English. And for elders, they respect the aged.

Medical care in cities is good but you have to pay for it, since Medicaid won't cover it.

Of course if China invades you will be in trouble.

But the main problem of moving overseas is that you will leave family and friends behind, so it can be lonely.

Not a problem for me since my husband has a large family here. And many local Yanks are married to local girls.

But you can’ t own property, only rent.
