Murders started increasing starting in 1960.

Miranda decision devised just in time for a murderous crime wave.

They voted with their U-Hauls to reject families like hers because of “the color of our skin”

This 50 year old claptrap has to stop. People didn't abandon their ethnic neighborhoods solely because they found black people ugly. This is kindergarten level discourse.

Started back in the 50’s when we were all lectured how we have to “understand” criminals. Boohoo they had a rough childhood and whatever.

By lowering the costs of crime, they encouraged more of it.

What a hateful, divisive bitty Mooch is. All these a-holes.
Crime. Period. It’s all about the crime. If you can afford to leave a crime-ridden crap-hole; you leave.

Trends aren't driven by race except in that history has resulted in correlations that aren't causation. Once the illusion that the races were genetically fundamentally different was removed, the separator of people and cause of division has been culture helped on by the fact that humans are unconsciously and instantaneously heavily influenced by visual stimuli as a means of survival, especially where the past is informing the present, which again brings it to an accident of history. That second part of it is not racism, it's just a side effect of survival mechanism shared equally by all races.

The leftist leadership of course knows this and is insincere, and the leftist followership enjoys the comfort of living in a drama of victims, bullies and heroes, where they see themselves as the victims and heroes but are neither of those two, they are merely the bully projecting their own image onto others, and in that way do nothing different than any other mob in mankind's history of, as Mark Steyn has called it, 'farce followed by farce followed by tragedy.'

Coincided with the civil rights movement which morphed into Demonrats telling whole groups of people that they weren’t capable of making a living on their own.

Which they were perfectly capable of BEFORE 1960.

I am a senior.. I saw this happening years ago.

we bought our first house in Ft Wayne Ind..$10,000 for a 2 bedroom with basement and a very nice home.
we bought many blocks from the run down neighborhood.
I’m not a racist.. I’m just telling what it was then.
I wanted to look at the new homes built further out.. but they were $30,000 plus.
you mentioned white flight..yes, it went on .when the real estate laws changed from “you sell your home to whom you want to”.. to “anyone can look and anyone can buy your home”.

that is why the new homes were more than twice the price.
now, here in Ga, a home will cost 200,000 to get something safe and comfortable.
everyone raised prices and it takes 2 incomes to have a home and car and etc.
the bottom dropped here 3+ yrs ago and our homes lost 100,000 overnight.
if biden gets in.. I’m selling.. they will drop again.
in my lifetime homes went from 10,000 to 500,000.. yes. and still today Atlanta grows north for miles.. oh there are black sports figures living in mansions.. it isn’t skin color.. its “do you keep your home in great shape”
if that is white flight.. it’s not losing the money put in a home.
people want to look good.. just have some sense to think of neighbors. I go off with loud music somewhere.. drums and bass guitar.. I dont make you listen to my Sunday sermon.. dont play your music loud...
our first new Chevy was $3200.. today its 50,000???
have not bought a new car lately. not sure..

The truth is I left the city years ago, and now enjoy a life where these things have not happened to me again: stealing my bike off the porch. Stealing my lawn mower when I went in for a pee break and glass of water. Breaking into my house and stealing TV and getting car keys and taking that too. Getting chased by a bunch of kids yelling “get that white boy”. Someone trying to sucker punch me in the face as I walk by on sidewalk.

As “one by one, they packed their bags and they ran from us,” the departing whites “left communities in shambles.”

Huh? In what way did they leave "communities in shambles?"

Why did blacks moving in not improve or fix up said communities "left in shambles" by fleeing whites?

Why didn't they show us how much better things could and would be when blacks take over a community?

I grew up in Flint, Michigan during the 60s. We had a nice little town, famous for being the home of Buick and GM and Chevy trucks. We had Republican mayors, great schools and a great police department.

Then the riots took place in Detroit. Being one hour away we got scared that they might come to our town.

People began to move to the suburbs. The Republican leadership left also, leaving a hole that needed to be filled up. The dems came in and every problem became an even bigger problem.

White Flight is a real thing. It will devastate a city. The cause is mainly crime. People want safe areas for their kids and their livelihoods. The people with gumption will leave before it gets so bad they can't leave.

Sometimes we must face our inner-racism. The number of Asians in the country is roughly half of the number of blacks. And if whites don’t want to be around blacks, why would they be ok with Asians? Answer: They aren’t.

Think about all of the articles that were written as Asians took over neighborhoods, how crime shot up, schools went to hell, property values crashed. All in the past 20 to 30 years. Hang on, I’ll find some of these articles and link to them.

...hmmm, can’t seem to find any. Interesting, perhaps white flight back then had a bit more to do with their neighborhoods going to hell than whether black families started moving in? You think?

Black Lives Matter - not empty words and not an effective slogan of propagandists.
The lives of black citizens of the United States, indeed, are of great importance
for the country in which they live. It is a fact. And the fact is undeniable,
since it is official statistics behind it. And this statistics says,
that, if suddenly the black population, regardless of age and sex,
tomorrow will leave the country, which it massively hates, then as a result:
- the US population will decrease by 11.3%;
- the number of employees will be reduced by 1.4%;
- The number of prisoners in prisons will be reduced by 48%;
- the number of gangs and other criminal groups will be reduced by 53%;
- the country’s average IQ will grow by 7.4%, placing the US in third place in the world, on a par with Japan;
- The average score of SAT (2016) will rise to 1100 points (now it is equal to 1000);
- the number of AIDS patients will be reduced by 65%;
- the number of patients with chlamydia will decrease by 59%;
- the number of patients with gonorrhea will decrease by 69%;
- the number of patients with syphilis will decrease by 57%;
- The average annual income for the country will rise by more than 20,000;
- the number of people living in poverty will be reduced by 54%;
- the number of homeless people will be reduced by 65%;
- the number of Welfare recipients will be reduced by 52%;
- The Democratic Party of the United States will lose 26% of its voters.
So, yes, everything is correct. Black Lives Matter!

The slums came later, after whites took the cities’ tax base with them to the suburbs.

Notice how the taxes paid by the residents belong to the city.

It’s funny how white flight was more Immediate and profound in the industrial north than in the south

Where despite segregation whites and blacks had lived in proximity or intermingled forever basically

When my grandmothers home on Lexington ave in Jackson. Mississippi first started going black in 1981 or so she and most whites stayed

The first blacks who came in were decent enough

It was only say by ten years later it had become untenable

Some whites never leave....they can’t

What happens is Ben Carson moves I; first and it’s great

But in time it’s overrun by White Gorl Bleed A Lot and Ben is long gone to fancier digs

My grandmother lasted from 80-93 when my mom forced her to move to fairly white Rankin county

Freepers in the homogenous north simply are just ignorant exsept in rust belt cities

Now in some black rural counties in the Deep South it’s always been more heavily African black

Some countries are 70-80% black

Whites self segregate strongly

Even the areas that “gentrify” can be a problem. I lived in Charlestown for 11 years. This is a very old historically white working class neighborhood in Boston. Busing started the problems. But yeah, the town was also full of plenty of scumbag whites. Gangs, crime, etc. It’s a weird neighborhood. You have white gentrification in some parts, but also the largest public housing project in New England. We bought a single family house a couple blocks from the monument in 2002. $300K, then 10 years renovating it for another $150k.

We sold it in 2013 for $680k. Was on the market for only 3 days. We beat feet for the south shore suburbs for a large house, large yard, and great schools. We left because of the school situation in Boston, and 10 years of petty crime, open drug use in the streets, and the behavior of the Charlestown High students (90% black). Our gate was kicked in 5 times, front windows broken, car stolen twice, etc.

We had a 100 pound Greater Swiss Mountain dog that the black kids hated and were scared of. They taunted her frequently and it made our house a target. Of course they never risked breaking in. Finally enough was enough.

Our house on the south shore has done nothing but increase in value. Paid $700k for it, 2.5 acres, 4,000 sq ft. Now worth $1.1 mill. My kid’s school is 98% white. They’re thriving. So I’m either a racists, or someone that really cares about my family’s well-being. Pretty sure what Moochelle and their ilk would call me...

The problem with the parent article is that they frame everything from the presupposition of racist motives. As cities devolved (and continue to devolve) their neighborhood begins to look like Fallujah. People from all cultures in the neighborhood who can afford to leave will. That is because people of all cultures want to be safe in their own home.

The problem is that people in different cultures have different values. Some cultures have values (a strong work ethic, a desire to be safe and free) and have made choices that give them skills that employer compensates well. These have the most options when a neighborhood becomes unsafe.

I would note that there are good examples from the black community that have made these choices. Thomas Sowell and Ben Carson come to mind.

Ben Shapiro and others have pointed out that there are key skills that when mastered give you a high probability of moving to a higher income class. These include avoiding criminal activity, finishing school, developing a marketable skill, and marrying before you have children. Thoughtful people of all cultures have succeeded in doing this and reaping the benefits.

Finally, I would note that it is much easier to buy into the lie created by the social justice community that the successful people persecuted you and prevented your success. This thinking has been criticized from long ago in the parable of the fox who could not reach the grapes and gave up, convincing himself (with no data) that the grapes were sour.
