A federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to fully restore an Obama-era initiative that protects undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children from deportation, requiring officials to open the program to new applicants for the first time since 2017.
Judge Nicholas Garaufis of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn instructed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to post a public notice by Monday that states the department will accept and adjudicate Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) petitions from immigrants who qualify for the program but are not currently enrolled in it.
Garaufis also instructed officials to grant approved applicants work permits that last for two years, instead of the one-year period proposed by the Trump administration over the summer.
An estimated one million undocumented immigrant teens and young adults who qualify for DACA on paper could soon apply for the program in the wake of Friday's order, according to lawyers who sued the Trump administration.

That’s only right because DACA is in the Constitution, right next to the parts about it’s OK to kill babies and its good for boys to change their clothes in the girls’ locker room.

The left plays to win. The GOP tried to meet them halfway and then they use judges when they won’t meet them far enough.

Sounds like an arbitrary and lawless ruling. I’ve never understand how an executive order by one president becomes sacrosanct, and cannot be undone by a later president.
No, no, no! Block this judge by any means necessary, at least until after inauguration. President Trump is still president. And may well still be until past 2024.
Why not just tell this fine, upstanding, American-hating judge to piss up a stump. He has no army...he has nothing.
DACA wasn’t even passed in the legislature.
All it was was an obama edict.
So judges run the bureaucracy. And now as an American citizen, I don’t even have the right for my vote to be counted. Once the dems add two states, eliminate the filibuster and pack the courts, America is over. And there is no where else for me to go, I am now a slave.
Let the Congress feed them out of their own pocket.......
Out of the blue...I think you put your finger on it.
Congress needs to pass a law that no ruling from a District Court Judge is binding on the Executive branch when it comes to the duties of the President.
Let it go to the appeals court, but no single judge should be able to block a President or issue a nationwide ruling when it comes to the duties of the executive.
This is crazy. A single judge should never wield this kind of power. It is out of control and its past time that SCOTUS ends this. In fact, SCOTUS should hear all cases like this challenging an executive action. Period. Go straight to SCOTUS.
