CHICAGO - President-elect Joe Biden is considering former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a substantial and somewhat divisive figure in Democratic Party politics, to serve as his transportation secretary.
Biden’s selection of his nominee to lead the Transportation Department is not believed to be imminent, and Emanuel is among multiple candidates in the running for the Cabinet position, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the private deliberations.
But his candidacy threatens to pull at the divisions among Democrats that Biden has largely managed to avoid as he begins to fill out his administration. Progressive leaders, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, have been especially vocal in criticizing the prospect of Emanuel joining the Cabinet.
Emanuel, a former three-term congressman who served as Barack Obama’s first White House chief of staff and was a senior adviser in Bill Clinton’s administration, has been a significant force in Democratic Party politics for much of the last three decades.
He also turned reviving Chicago’s ragged public transportation system and overhauling the city’s two busy, worn airports into a top issue during his eight years as mayor. He is also credited with making Chicago one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in country during his time in office.
But selecting Emanuel could be a tough sell to some in the progressive wing of the Democratic Party who are critical of his handling of the high-profile police shooting death of Laquan McDonald, a Black teenager killed by a white officer, during his time as Chicago’s mayor.

We need to pay attention to all of his appointments as these will be “rewards” to people for helping him cheat and will expose who helped it happen.

IF the truth be known, it ALL leads right back to the Obama and his filthy shadow govt regime (Comey, Clapper, Soros, Brennan, etc.). Obama never left. He’s been running that shadow govt ever since he left the WH. It should have been stopped by any means possible. Instead, we have what we’re witnessing today: A communist coup/takeover of America.

Rahm’s was the quote, uttered while Obama’s Chief of Staff, about never letting a crisis go to waste. This concept was being bandied about in corporate management circles at the time, companies, of course, being mini dictatorships. The same concept is obviously anathema to the the proper management of executive branches of democratic republics. Not that Obama or Rahm Emmanuel knew or cared about this “nuance”.
He doesn’t weigh a lot.
The somewhat divisive figure in democratic party uses the party’s plan take our guns and sell them to Mexico that way they don’t have to buy any and the can tell the tax payers the saved us millions.
As these appointments go, Rahm is far, far, far better than most. Indeed, Biden would do well to appoint him senior advisor with day-to-day responsibilities within the White House. As President Obama’s chief of staff, he was a pit bull advocating for his boss and a wise head on matters like health care. (’Mr. President, please do NOT propose the Affordable Care Act.’)
His record as Mayor of Chicago also shows elements of fiscal responsibility and a willingness to take on corruption and entrenched interests.
An appointment for Rahm would take power away from the most radical elements in Biden’s administration. Rahm has the testicles and cognitive power that Biden at 78 years old lacks.
