I disagree. They concentrated from the beginning on amassing a powerful portfolio of dirt on prominent politicians and citizens through a domestic spying and intimidation operation. Their paid informants were well placed, like the NKVD. Bank robbers were a justification, like the FBI movie and series. And Hoover’s famous tours.

And burying news the establishment doesn’t like is nothing new. They buried footage of people falling from the World Trade Center shortly after 9/11.
And before that, a lot of people forgot that terrorists attempted to take one of the towers down with van bombs in the parking garage beneath one of them back around 1995 or ‘96.
Don’t forget the Olympic Bombing in Atlanta. Richard Jewell, the one guy to read the situation and save a lot of lives, was nearly sent to prison or worse over it by the FBI.
