2-1 decision, with the Odiousbama "judge" being left out in the cold.

Bevvy Martin: "I would affirm the District Court’s denial of the Therapists’ motion for a preliminary injunction."
And who is little Bevvy agreeing with?
Another POS Clownbammy "judge" legislating from the bench:

It’s a joke because in the long run it doesn’t “work” and does more harm than good. If they are happy living that particular lifestyle and don’t force me to celebrate it, then no harm no foul. Besides if someone is poofter it’s not my business.
I don’t think this was at a state of Florida level.
I think it was a county or city. Maybe Key West of Miami.
No they’re actually allowing kids in elementary to choose their gender and school nurses are on the look out for “abuse” if parents don’t allow them.
Granted that’s not 3 years old... yet...
I think you took a wrong turn on the way to buzzfeed, troll.
If my minor child was so disposed to being a homo, I as his father would definitely send him for counseling to disuade him from engaging in such activities. That is my RIGHT as a parent.
Troll? I have been on these boards for 22 years. I know a disagree with most on this site but I think the concept of praying away the gay is just plain silly
Couldn’t the same argument be made for any predilection any individual has that is supposedly “innate”?
Where would you draw the line on sexual behavior? Is beastiality not cuttable? Incest? Explain your logic, I’m genuinely curious
Jesus can change hearts. I don’t believe you can ever get over being gay, but you can choose to live a moral life and follow Christ teaching.
Reparative therapy isn’t religious, so your characterization of reparative therapy as “praying away the gay” just shows that you’ve bought into the LGBT’s misrepresentation of the issue. It’s akin to banning all rape counseling by calling it “praying away the shame”.
Correct again, senior.
And a classic home page for a FReeper.
You have really observe the hypocrisy as well - the same people who believe women can be men and men can be women and should be able to “covert” their literal biology don’t believe people that don’t want to have same-sex attractions should be able to seek treatment for that.
It’s totally nonsensical.
Thanks. I haven’t looked at it in a while. I’d forgotten I was 2005. My kids think I’m an old-timer (especially the youngest three) but that is the first time I’ve had a freeper comment on that.
JP II had been dead THAT Long. And Franky has been taking the Church to Hollywood and Hollywood to the Church for just about as long as Benedict was trying to take it down the narrow path. (I roamed the religion forum initially and it is still one of my main haunts on the internet).
gundog—I’m pinging you because I don’t know if you’ve ever checked out my home page, but the last two of the three quotes are courtesy of Mr. K’s classes.
“Their women exchanged the normal practices of sexual intercourse for something which is abnormal and unnatural.
Similarly the men, turning from natural intercourse with women, were swept into lustful passions for one another. Men with men performed these shameful horrors, receiving, of course, in their own personalities the consequences of sexual perversity.”
(New Testament, Romans 1:26,27)
Wow! Me tooo! I am so glad I came out!
Good start in a slapdown for folks in govt thinking they have the power to stop someone from seeking mental/medical health treatment.
Gov. Chris Christie signed a similar bill onto law here in New Jersey. One’s heart sinks to see that. But you are right, this ruling gives hope.
I think conversion therapy is a joke (an unpopular opinion around these parts, I admit), but it’s not my views that matter here. If someone wants to go through this, they have that right. No one was forced into anything and no one else is being harmed, so the first amendment argument is a pretty strong one.
I don't think it works either. I've read about too many cases where the supposedly cured gay returns to homosexuality. They may succeed in repressing the homosexual urges but I don't think you can replace them with heterosexual urges. Obviously any "therapy" that uses electric shocks should be illegal. For the rest, I think at best they are a waste of time and money. At worst they are outright frauds run by homosexuals themselves (George Alan Rekers, anyone?).
Many of the liberal states have passed laws like this. They all need to be struck down.
Romans 1:18-32 tells why. If those turned over to reprobate minds champion homosexuality in society they will logically resist anything to the contrary of that.
Reparative therapy of this nature first and foremost must work to expose and heal the grievous wounds borne by the soul and the spirit, typically in silence and utter misery despite outward appearances to the contrary.
