A federal appeals court on Friday ruled that ordinances in Florida banning the licensed counseling of people with unwanted same-sex attractions are unconstitutional violations of the freedom of speech.
"We hold that the challenged ordinances violate the First Amendment because they are content-based regulations of speech that cannot survive strict scrutiny," the ruling from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said.
The decision was the first from a federal appeals court laws against so-called "conversion therapy" – a term rejected by proponents – since a 2018 U.S. Supreme Court ruling. In NIFLA v. Becerra, the high court ruled the government cannot force an individual or organization to express a message chosen by the government.

If you’re a man who thinks he’s a woman, you’re banned from getting counseling to convince yourself you’re a man, but you’re NOT banned from getting medical “treatment” to cut off your genitals. This country is f*cking SICK.
The State decides if you are sick or not
If not then you are BANNED from seeking medical help, even counseling
Since the State says homosexuality is normal YOU cannot decide to change your sex urges
However if you want to change your gender and sex organs, you have rights

Great news for parents who want to protect their children from this evil and insidious “trans” movement. The provision of puberty blocking hormones or surgery to minors constitutes child abuse.
Right. There’s NOTHING wrong with VOLUNTARY conversion therapy.
Have to allow 3 year old to have transgender therapy and support their right to be gay. But if they want to try to be straight that’s evil and a harm?

Attended a Federalist Society event in DC last fall. A woman in the audience asked about enforcing such a ban. She seemed a militant. A circuit court judge on the panel asked her what right the government has to bar an individual from freely choosing a therapy. Zing.
I think conversion therapy is a joke (an unpopular opinion around these parts, I admit), but it’s not my views that matter here. If someone wants to go through this, they have that right. No one was forced into anything and no one else is being harmed, so the first amendment argument is a pretty strong one.

Perversion is not free speech.
If you look at it that way, from the myopic viewpoint of the left, then you are correct.
The reality is that it isn't "conversion" therapy, a label that the sodomite left has given it. It is REPARATIVE therapy, seeking to repair what is broken.
And a lot of these young people who could benefit from such therapy are broken. A majority of them have been sexually molested as minors by grown men. Their sexuality has been turned on its head.

Agree, of course, but legally speaking, a 3 year old cannot consent to any medical ‘treatment’ (other than killing a baby). So I assume ‘voluntary’ here applies to adults.
Pressure from LBGT....XYZ to normalize all forms of deviance. Any suggestion that LGBetc is anything but normal must be eradicated.
