Those are probably 400+ lumen lights they are shining in that guys face, and that isn’t an accident. I am certain they talk about doing this, and enjoy doing it. A non-lethal thing, but it can cause permanent damage to a person’s eyes.

One of two things will happen:
After the election they will go back to their parent’s basement.
The violence will continue.
If the violence continues, there should be the harshest crackdown compatible with restoring law and order.
It’s not hard if the state and local governments are serious. Just pass a law making it a misdemeanor to appear at a mass demonstration in “black bloc,” and a felony to appear that way at a riot, and make everyone in black bloc criminally responsible for any crime committed by any fellow rioters. Then actually make mass arrests and prosecute even for minor offenses like blocking traffic.
They did just a little of that even in Democrat-run Houston. Anyone blocking streets was arrested after a warning, then they corralled the rest and arrested all of them, too. They arrested hundreds on the second night of protests. The DA unfortunately dropped the street-blocking and disorderly conduct charges, but prosecuted the vandalism and assault. We barely had any rioting at all afterward—easily the largest city in the country that can say that.
