Hmm...if you are elderly and immune compromised. You should wear a mask.

If you are elderly and immune compromised, you should wear a real mask properly.

“To protect against droplets from coughs and sneezes”

I cannot imagine how nasty it would be to sneeze in a mask and continue to wear it. Maybe we should just advise people to stay home if sick.

I don't wear a mask unless absolutely required to.

Like going the the local VA hospital for my annual checkup. Or flying on an airplane on a recent trip.

But locally, I do not wear one. Not outside nor inside. Not to the grocery that says they require them or to the hardware store or to the CVS drugstore. No one says a word to me about not wearing a mask. And social distancing is a joke. No one follows that rule from what I can tell except for the frightened, woke Leftists. You can spot them a mile off, walking cautiously, afraid the virus will literally jump on them if they move too fast or get too near someone else.

The stupidest rule is having to wear a mask to enter a restaurant but then you're allowed to remove the mask after coming through the door. I don't wear a mask in the car, I put one on to go in the front door and then immediately remove the mask to sit down and eat. Huh? What's that all about? Viruses are inert, submicroscopic particles. They don't jump on you as you enter and then go away as soon as you're inside. Dumbest thing I've heard of.

The best thing one can do to stop the spread of the virus is to wash your hands regularly and stop touching your hands to your eyes, nose or mouth. But, ironically, this effort is emphasized the least because it's not "visible" like wearing a mask and staying 6 feet away from other people. Others can't tell if you have washed your hands recently or not.

I view most of this as government-induced mass hysteria, especially by Leftist governors and mayors, to frighten the sheeple into believing something that is just not so.

You are right, sneezing or coughing into a mask is not only gross but doesn't help stop spread. However masks are useful for talkers. I find it amazing how many talkers in stores are also not mask wearers. It's the talkers who are the problem.

"...the authors of the study revisited it in light of the COVID-19 outbreak and said the “physical barrier provided by a cloth mask may afford some protection..."

Don't you just love weasel words!! If you read the mainstream press carefully, you will find them everywhere!

Let’s face it, masks truly are having the desired effect. We have far less personal interaction, “we” writ large have shown the government that we will not only comply with directives to wear masks, but - in many areas - tolerate government intrusion into our lives and homes to ensure that we don’t gather in numbers of 5, 6, 10 or more people or have a beer or mixed drink without food. Add to that the fact that we tolerate government’s lack of prohibition or response to people rioting and destroying billions of dollars of personal and public property - while not wearing masks. We now live in a world where a gathering of Trump supporters is a “superspreader” event, but riots and casual sex are perfectly safe.

And they look at those of us who don’t wear masks like we’re idiots...

“The best thing one can do to stop the spread of the virus is to wash your hands regularly...”

The “washing hands” message has fallen by the wayside, hasn’t it. I can’t remember the last time I heard that until your commonsense comment. Now it’s “MASKS, MASKS, MASKS” 24/7.

Would you board an aircraft if there was only one limited study that showed it could fly?

The purpose of the mask?

To hide the revealing facial expression of the ComDem POLs (and any stand in’s) and hides the identity of the rioters, looters, arsonists and those who assault anyone they don’t like.

The mask is the symbolic image of the #ComDem_Covid19_Dictators (Mayors/Governors/Bureaucraps)

This whole things is about the “Agenda”.

Just voted at our usual NC voting place...a high school. Hardly anybody in line. The wife wore a mask, I did not. All the poll workers were wearing a mask. I expected to catch grief but nobody said a thing to me. Even had a couple of pleasant (brief) conversations with some of the masked workers. Very nice experience overall...well organized.

But you’re right. Masks obscure most facial expressions, make it hard to communicate...and hide people’s intentions. I hate’em.

There are folks who don’t wash their hands after wiping their own ass. the mask is a sneeze guard you wear. It is NOT some magical shield against the virus! This bug is also not the bubonic plague that swept thru Europe in the middle ages. The fact that the govt./ medical community are incapable of expressing this info speaks volumes about the leadership of both!
