Rand Paul in Virginia: Masks do not work
Daily Beast ^ | Oct 26 | Sam Brodey

Posted on 10/27/2020 3:56:14 AM PDT by RandFan

“I’m not telling you not to wear a mask,” Paul said at a rally for Nick Freitas, a Republican candidate for Congress in central Virginia, which was streamed on Freitas’ Facebook page. “The cloth masks… I’m just telling you the truth, they don’t work. Ninety-seven percent of viruses go through a cloth mask.”

Paul did not cite at the time where he got this figure. But his office sent a tweet from Paul last month sharing a 2015 study that found particle penetration of cloth masks was 97 percent. Not noted, however, was that the authors of the study revisited it in light of the COVID-19 outbreak and said the “physical barrier provided by a cloth mask may afford some protection,” and tailored their guidance to health workers, not regular citizens.

After the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, public health researchers have consistently found that cloth masks, while less effective than surgical masks or N95 masks, are a critical way to stop the spread of the coronavirus because they drastically reduce the range of droplets expelled from a person’s mouth and nose. Recent research from the University of Washington, for example, found that if 95 percent of people wear cloth masks within six feet of others, it would reduce COVID-19 spread by 30 percent.

We went into “Wallyworld” this past weekend, it was about 60/40 (40% no mask) it was amazing, it is usually just me and my girl without a mask. It was wonderful to see so many without the face diaper.

Then we went into a the store “Spouts” it was 99/01 (Just me an my girl without a mask). The looks we got LOL.

Notice that the home ‘news’ site of Hell, the Daily “Beast”, is in favor of masks for everyone, forever. You can often tell what is right or wrong by what the Devil’s minions tell you to do. It’s like finding the sun by seeing the shadows.

Here is rural Alabama, my son and I were in a local restaurant this weekend. Of the two dozen or so patrons, only two were wearing a mask. We weren’t wearing one, either, and got no guff from our well-known waitress, who wasn’t wearing one, either. All this despite our Governess mandating masks FOREVVVVEEEERRRRRRRRR.

Maybe. Just don’t become complacent because of it. I watched Biden in very short interview and he pulled at his mask at least 10 times. He would pinch it right at the nasal passage area. If you did this in a building you would constantly be spreading your germs any where you touched.

Sprouts is organic foods, so there’d be mostly libs there...and they just can’t get enough of masks! I never go to my local Trader Joe’s, even though I like some of their products, for the same reason. They’re obsessed with masks.

Yes, but no one is talking about the negative effects of wearing a mask. There is a rise of strep and staph infections of the mouth and lungs. And the big one is Legionnaires disease, which loves hot and humid environments like the inside of a mask.

The mask police are out in NYS. Literally.

Law enforcement across Chemung County performing compliance checks

Wonder how many man hours have been spent on these "compliance checks"...

Would you board an aircraft that had a 30% chance of making it to its destination?

Even if a mask does stop a droplet, or molecule, then it’s just sitting on the outside of the mask, collecting more gunk all day long. Then you touch it 400 times, go into a public restroom and those toilets that flush like Niagara Falls send droplets EVERYWHERE, so think about that on your mask. I take mine off, but then your handling it and putting it in your pocket. Someone needs to do a lab analysis on the crud on both sides of the mask, after a day of use.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Friend of mine’s 89 year old mother and her roommate in a Ma. nursing home each got it. They had a mild cold for a few days and that was it. I realize many others have a different story but masks and rules in general have to be having a very detrimental effect to quality of life for those in their final years (and of course everyone else).

I haven’t seen any pictures of people working in virology labs wearing only cloth masks. My guess is that is because cloth masks don’t stop viruses.

“MASKS DO NOT WORK” - Enthusiastically agreed, with minor exception.

Masks DO work to contain the spread of droplets that are normal to be spread from mouth ONLY when talking. That mask does absolutely zero to protect any un-infected person, but does make the infected person around us a bit less dangerous to infect others via droplets or “spittle”.

It is total BS to think that random virus floating in air is going to impale itself on the mask media and protect the user from an airborne pathway. That particle is just to go around the mask via the gaps via simple aerodynamics.

That’s about the same math between Lowe’s and Home Depot near me, with HD being the 60/40 and Lowe’s at 99/1...(1 being me). The stores are just blocks apart.

Just crazy.
