One's definitely gay and the other is primarily not, so I think you are in error.

There was a difference between homo civil unions and Homo “marriage” —————-at least until Pope Francis’ (alleged/reported/?) statement. Civil unions did not carry the “endorsement” of the church. To some, that was a significant distinction.

There is no difference between the two.

They are both abominations, but the first is an arrangement to facilitate a crime and capital sin (sodomy), while the other is also a literal impossibility--like dividing by zero.

Marriage is a sacrament, a human act in which God Himself takes part, and it occurs between a man and a woman, period. No Catholic, even Francis, would say otherwise.

Doing fan-dances with secularist, anti-Catholic filmmakers on this subject is a bad idea with no legitimate upside that I can see. But I didn't vote for the man.
