Former President Barack Obama’s appearance in Philadelphia on Wednesday will be a drive-in car rally.
It’s Obama’s first in-person campaign event anywhere for the presidential election this year, Joe Biden’s campaign said. Obama will speak to the importance of early voting and will specifically address Black voters, especially Black men, the campaign said.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, the event will be ticketed, without public access. The Biden campaign will offer a limited number of tickets to supporters through local campaign officials. It will also be livestreamed on the Biden campaign’s website.

While filling up my tank today(middle GA, just south of Macon), I saw a Black American for Trump/Pence sign in the back window of a pick up truck.
Driver was a black guy who looked about 50.
No public access, also.
I think Obama’s lack of support for Biden is interesting. Obama obviously knew about Joe’s corruption, and Joe was able to get away with it by looking like a gaffe prone old man (even those many years ago) who was just out there on his own, not doing anything substantial in the Obama government. But Obama knew, and I think he’s been laying low just hoping it will all pass without involving him.
Obama was probably too canny to accept any money himself while he was in office, and probably too canny to accept any afterwards, as well, since he clearly knew that Joe was an idiot. A ruthless, greedy idiot, but an idiot nonetheless. And if there’s one thing that Obama knows, it’s how to protect #1.
The problem for Obama is that Joe’s relentless quest for dollars, like Hillary’s relentless quest for power, actually affected United States foreign policy during the Obama regime, and Obama did nothing about it. So I think he’s turning up at the last minute hoping to give enough pro forma support to Biden to keep Biden from turning on him and blaming him for it.
