Courant Presidential Endorsement: You probably think you can vote for Donald Trump but not support racism; here’s why you’re wrong
The Hartford Courant ^ | OCTOBER 18, 2020 | Editorial

Posted on 10/18/2020 11:11:51 AM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Chances are you’ve already made up your mind about whom to vote for as we decide who’s going to be the next president of the United States. You probably are also aware there’s no way The Hartford Courant or most any other newspaper is going to endorse Republican Donald Trump for reelection.

There are many reasons for that, and we’re not going to go into them in great detail here. If you are voting for Democrat Joe Biden, you know what they are. If you’re voting for Trump, you probably don’t care.

But there is one issue that demands a closer look as we approach Election Day, one that even those of you who are pretty sure you’re voting Republican might want to think about before voting for Trump: race. Or, more specifically, racism and the damaging effects it has on the fabric and future of our nation.

President Trump’s views on race and his willingness to exploit deep-rooted divisions are well documented. He jump-started his 2016 campaign by equating Mexicans with rapists and drug dealers. When racist violence erupted at a Charlottesville, Va., white-supremacist rally, Trump said there were “very fine people on both sides.” And most recently, when asked during a debate with Biden to denounce white nationalism, Trump said it was time for the militaristic hate group the Proud Boys to step back — but also to “stand by.”

That alone should frighten you, but right about now is when some of you are probably saying that you don’t subscribe to the kind of racist invective Trump uses to fire up his base. You believe in the free market and low taxes, or you’re against abortion, or you just don’t trust the Democrats.

LIBERALS are the most racist people I know of.

I knew of many vile types of typical hate groups who were Skinheads,Nazi trash, believed in separate societies and were of the ilk of David Duke types etc. They were LESS racist than the typical liberal because liberalism IS systemic/systematic racism.

When racist violence erupted at a Charlottesville, Va., white-supremacist rally, Trump said there were “very fine people on both sides.”

Two lies in one sentence by the Hartford Courant Editors and that is why their argument is male bovine byproduct!

First lie is "white-supremacist rally" when it was a 'permitted' protest against removal of a statue to Gen.Lee and renaming of a local park (2017) AND a counter peaceful protest by people wanting the removal and renaming. Not initially violent until militants from both LEFT and RIGHT (L&R) hijacked the protest and clashed violently!

Second lie is the deliberate, out-of-context Trump quote; “very fine people on both sides.” Here is what CNN's Jake Tapper, no friend of Trump, said about this "BIG LIE" last year (2019); "“Now elsewhere in those remarks the president did condemn neo-Nazis and white supremacists. So he’s not saying that the neo-Nazis and white supremacists are very fine people,” Tapper stated. “But he is saying people protesting alongside those neo-Nazis and white supremacists are very fine people.”

Now while Tapper exonerates Trump from linking "fine people" to the violent L&R rioters, he (deliberately ?) has the 'permitted' "...people protesting *alongside* those neo-Nazis and white supremacists" which adds his own manipulation by *leaving out* the LEFTist Antifa 'clashers' AND BY making it sound like the "neo-Nazis and white supremacists" were an original and expected participant in the peaceful rally.

Still, this quote from a top CNN reporter gives the lie back to this birdcage newspaper!

Anyone notice the various Muslim advocacy groups have been TOTALLY silent during this campaign and this year, for that matter?

Muzzies aren’t stupid. They know that endorsing Biden would be the kiss of death. Islam isn’t popular here.

And they won’t denounce Trump. Calling him a Zionist pig Islamophobe and threatening his supporters would make for a pro-PDJT avalanche.

Good Grief, Joe Biden is the biggest racist there is! He has always been a racist, and he continues to this day making racist statements. This video is pretty damning

I think 2020 will show an increased number of people who no longer give a DAMN if some leftist thinks we’re racist.

Gov. William J. LePetomane would be a far more serious candidate than that doddering wreck Creepy BiteMe.

First and last time I look at an article by the Harford Courant. They start with a lie.

Yes, Gavin founded it.

Their present ""supreme el honcho" is Enrique Tarrio, a black Hispanic of Cuban heritage.

Clearly a White Supremacist.

Let’s turn the tables on this a bit, shall we?

Courant Presidential Endorsement: You probably think you can vote for Joe Biden but not support abortion; here’s why you’re wrong.

“... not going to go into detail why...”

Because when called to the carpet to justify their decisions with actual, factual names, dates, places, winesses, court level provable evidence - there NEVER is any.

Everything against Trump is opinion based on an opinion which is based on someone’s emotional projectile vomit fake demonstration, based on another person’s opinion.

To the Hartford Courant Editorial Board: You probably think you can write outright lies to persuade Trump voters to desert him - Unfortunately for you most Trump voters are better informed than your regular readers.

We don’t know that they all are. You need to stop saying things like that.

But I have it on good authority that the author of the article is a child sex trafficker.

He jump-started his 2016 campaign by equating Mexicans with rapists and drug dealers.

That's a blatant lie. He said those individuals were crossing the border - he never equated "Mexicans" with rapists and drug dealers.

When racist violence erupted at a Charlottesville, Va., white-supremacist rally, Trump said there were “very fine people on both sides.”

Another blatant lie. He never, ever said that in relation to any white supremacists and indeed specifically and repeatedly condemned them at at press conference.

And most recently, when asked during a debate with Biden to denounce white nationalism, Trump said it was time for the militaristic hate group the Proud Boys to step back — but also to “stand by.”

The leader of that group is black. That would make it difficult for it to be a "white nationalist" group.

That alone should frighten you

No, it doesn't, since it is all a pack of lies. However, it is indeed frightening we have a news media that is responsible for informing the public, but is instead blatantly spreading these kinds of lies to misinform the public and sew seeds of division and unrest because some people actually believe it.
