Mayor Luke Bronin hosted a Virtual Town Hall with several city leaders Saturday morning.
The Zoom event is set to discuss public safety in the capital city, officials said.
Bronin will be joined by Hartfords new States Attorney Sharmese Walcott, City Council President Maly D. Rosado, members of the City Council, Police Chief Jason Thody and Assistant Police Chief Rafael Medina.

Governor Lamont said this week he is directing the Connecticut State Police to provide the Hartford Police Department with resources targeting gun violence.
Republican lawmakers are now calling on Lamont to suspend the states police accountability law in response to the uptick in crime not just in Hartford, but across the state.
The request for State Police resources coming straight from Mayor Luke Bronin and Hartford Police Chief Jason Thody.
While republicans said a pause on the police accountability bill is needed to address crime throughout Connecticut.
They cant do consent searches anymore; the use of force has now changed, Deputy House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora said. We are seeing a direct impact of this law which has only been in effect for two weeks thats having on our communities.
Governor Lamont did not respond to the call from republicans.
Republican leader Vincent Candelora said the bill ties the hands of officers and a pause is needed until they can revisit the bill in January.
Time for Police to step back and just document the crime scene after the fact as the state has mad it clear they don't want them to be proactive.
Trump 2020 A Man vs. A Movement
Tom Klingenstein explains why 2020 may be the most consequential election since 1860and why President Trump is the man most uniquely suited to the moment.
This video is a MUST SEE for ALL Republicans, US Marines and Patriots:
The murders in CT are almost all black on black violence.
So, it is obvious black lives do not matter to Lamont.
Connecticut State Police: Sorry, governor. We don’t want our presence to further antagonize the criminal element in Hartford.
They're going to start arresting guns?
Thus we see the rise of FIDO policing.
F*** It, Drive On!
Cant say I blame the police in these areas that dont have their backs.
Hartford cops should just follow the State Police around and enforce the State’s Motor Vehicle Code.
“Sorry, governor. We dont want our presence to further antagonize the criminal element in Hartford.”
There are a couple of real problems with the bill that should have stopped it in the legislators.
“Only where they have maliciously and wantonly violated someone’s constitutional rights without a good faith belief that they were complying with the law when they did so. That’s the only instance in which an officer would face personal liability under this bill, said Rep. Stafstrom. Its really not going to change much or subject the average officer to any more liability than they face today.
A police officer has a few seconds, at most, to determine if there is a need for lethal force at that moment. But the real and legal determination of the need is settled in proceedings with drawings, witnesses, political thoughts, and many other possibilities to make a ruling when they are not looking down a barrel and can sit and talk about it for possibly months. It’s easy to be an armchair quarterback with someone else’s life.
Besides, state law already does that. “You commit a crime as a police officer, you go to jail. Theres no immunity, Senate Minority Leader Len Fasano said. Some who wear the badge say the provision will make police officers second guess their every move for fear of being sued.
And how come just one city warrants this determination? Are there no other cities where there is a crime problem. I have a simple solution, no criminals, no crimes. The only way to keep violent criminals out of the city is to close it. Everyone gone, nothing but buildings.
Of course that isn’t possible. But it a far better solution that instead of criminals getting killed, they get cops killed, instead, honest or not. The don’t have to pay taxes on criminals. And they can easily invite others to become a cop so they can make the big bucks. (Provided they stay alive long enough to get the bucks)

“Lamont, you big dummy!”
Yep. He ordered SP to Hartford knowing full well that something like 99% of the CSP officers voted no confidence in him.
democrats are complete idiots.
This could turn into a big circle j*&^ as the Hartford police follow around the State police who are following around the Hartford police who are trying to avoid any criminal activity because they know the Mayor and the Governor do not have their back.
Typical liberals thought processes. Unintended consequence and unforeseen circumstances are the only certainty. The only unknown in their decisions is how soon after enacting a bonehead regulation or law does it blow up in their faces.
I’ve lived in CT since 1988 and watched this state destroy itself because of liberalism that ran off the rails into wholesale socialist one party rule oligarchy.
Hartford needs to be bombed. Make it into an 18 square mile cove of the Connecticut River. Put the capital in the Thimble Islands...
Hey Hartford has some very important things like, uh, a minor league ball park and, um, a carousal and, well, i got nothing else.
