NBC News to host town hall with Trump on Thursday [10-15-20-] 8pm EDT
NBC ^ | Oct 14, 2020 | NBC Staff

Posted on 10/15/2020 12:05:55 PM PDT by nikos1121

NBC News will host a live town hall with Republican presidential nominee President Donald Trump, moderated by Savannah Guthrie, in Miami on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. During the one-hour town hall, Guthrie will moderate a conversation between President Trump and a group of Florida voters on critical issues impacting their vote less than three weeks before Election Day.

The event will take place outdoors at the Pérez Art Museum Miami in accordance with guidelines set forth by health officials and consistent with all government regulations. NBC News has been given a statement by Dr. Clifford Lane, Clinical Director at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), indicating that he and Dr. Anthony Fauci have reviewed the president’s recent medical data, including a PCR test collected and analyzed by NIH on Oct. 13, and have concluded “with a high degree of confidence” that the president is “not shedding infectious virus.”

Both Guthrie and the president will be at least 12 feet apart from both each other and the audience. The audience will also be socially-distanced and required to wear face masks while on the premises, answer a symptoms questionnaire and take a temperature check prior to entering the outdoor venue. Every NBC News staffer will be tested on site on the ground in Miami.

The town hall will follow the same format and will air in the time slot as NBC News’ town hall with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, moderated by Lester Holt, held last Monday, Oct. 5. In addition to airing on NBC, the primetime event will also air across MSNBC and CNBC, stream on NBC News NOW and be available in Spanish on Telemundo’s digital platforms.

The star of the Trump town hall was the woman sitting over Trump’s shoulder

It’s excellent to have a black woman nodding in agreement and showing support for Trump as he gets attacked by a hostile leftist

But what does it take to get Biden "up" for these sessions?

You can't run the Oval Office and call a lid on things at 10:00 am and disappear for three days.

They have given questions to the people to read and they can hardly read them. It is set up

…………………

These where dialogues . Not questions. Very similar to Wallace where you got lost before the actual essence was revealed.

Trump looked so good that MSN “news” doesn’t even have it trending!
Twitter libs are wandering lost.

Superb performance by President Trump tonight. Turned a few NBC voters his way.

Prescription drugs IS Healthcare. If your doctor prescribes medication and you can’t afford it how is that useful
Trump MUST make that connection. He does sometimes but it really should be an obvious go to.

I just watched on my DVR. Clearly Savannah Guthrie had her gotcha's ready after the questioners asked their questions.

To me, the worst was when she read back President Trump's comment in 2016 on Merrick Garland. Guthrie said that Trump changed his position and read the comment as "I think the Senate should wait and let the next President make the choice."

Guthrie misrepresented Trump's position, because Trump said nothing about Obama's right to nominate Garland. Trump said the Senate should wait, not that Obama shouldn't have nominated.

All, Guthrie herself as well as ALL of the women asking questions were trying to make Trump appear disrespectful toward them. It failed. But that was the real game plan.

I flipped between both townhalls.
What struck me was the energy in Trumps room and every questioner no matter the stripe was smiling when asking their questions.

Biden no energy in the room. No one was smiling asking a question.

Trumps town hall was watchable entertaining tv discounting the moderator. Biden town hall was horrible tv.

Imagine a real intellect like Candace Owens moderating this

That would be amazing!

respectfully disagree...I agree with you on the first debate. It was a total crap show, however, he was strong in this town hall. He was in control of his emotions. He was engaging and he came across as relaxed and he smiled. All of that despite the fact that Savanna argued every single point to the very point of having far less people ask questions.

Even though I would have loved for him to hammer Hunter and Biden, he needed to come across as someone who is calm but strong and had answers...I believe he achieved that.

There's a teleprompter in that room somewhere.

He's clearly reading as he is transfixed at that upward angle as though he's looking at the questioner.

Thanks for that report, from the Low Energy Biden townhall.

The nodding lady, behind Trump, was charming. Talk about enthusiastic support!

“He is speaking in complete sentences...”

Wow! That’s really performing. For Real!

Biden was a 1 out of 10 on the emotional scale. His replies wandered and didn’t answer the direct question. He looked WEAK. Very WEAK. He looked like he was staying up way past his bed time and was struggling to stay awake.

But no, he didn’t actually fall out of his chair. Or if he did, it was during one of his countless breaks....

First time I’ve ever bowed out on a live Trump event.....but I genuinely couldn’t handle the shrill and combative voice of Guthries ...I didn’t tune in to hear Guthrie vs. Trump. Had enough of that with Wallace the last time.

Biden doesn’t get pressed at all. Everyone in the “room” is trying to make him look good. If Trump had that it wouldn’t even be close.

I am amazed Trump didnt walk out.
Actually thought he was going to at one point canon. The man is impressive in what he takes and how he pushes back on everything. That’s why the press hates him. They cant destroy him and he gives and good as he gets.

The bias is obvious and disgusting. That shrill-voiced woman flaunted her bias and rudeness. It showed that Trump could take while Biden would have unraveled. An image of a weak Biden and a strong Trump emerged.

And then over on the Biden channel, a softball lob right out the gate from a “undecided” voter.

I was over at the Sleepy Joe event

Joe gets simple questions read out slowly

But Joe says No 1......

Then goes completely off track in some random story(or stories)
