I checked the paperwork the mayoral candidates had to file; it doesn’t ask for party affiliation. And there’s no affiliation on the ballot either.
Texas appears to be the same as Tennessee, where you don’t declare party affiliation when you register to vote; you only declare which party primary you wish to vote in when actually voting in the primary.
Obviously he is NOT a democrat! Why, if he were a democrat, the unbiased writers and headline would have immediately said he was a democrat, right?
Clearly, you are racist for claiming he is a minority, liberal, racist, anti-Semitic anti-Christian (er, democrat) election cheater!

Municipal elections in Texas are nonpartisan. although this man is a Democrat, like the mayor of nearby Dallas, as well as the other large Texas cities, except Fort Worth.
