The Biden/Harris talking “Criminal Justice Reform” is laughable. One wrote the bad laws & the other enforced them. @realDonaldTrump signed the First Step Act, and I’ve been introducing bills for years, in order to undo the damage they’ve done.

I have been campaigning long and hard over the years in this forum for the legalization of drugs, not limited to marijuana, because the war is lost and the collateral damage is worse than the effect of the drugs on society.

It will probably take a Republican to legalize drugs, it will probably be a step-by-step incremental process beginning, as we have seen, with marijuana but the end result is inevitable.

The irony is that Trump is campaigning on this issue trying to get to the left of Biden and Harris. It is an attempt, of course, to drive a wedge into Democrat's African-American support. To the degree that we are loosing felons into our streets whose violent histories lie submerged behind guilty pleas for mere possession of marijuana, we are courting problems.

These problems are just one more dividend from the lost war on drugs.
