Gee, Sultan Erdogan has a lot on his plate these days! On top of putting the Greeks and the Kurds back in their proper place, there’s those pesky Armenians who won’t just die once and for all (oops, that never happened, silly me!), there’s the takeover of Cyprus that’s been on hold since 1974, and needs to be completed once and for all, and now there’s Jerusalem too.
Affirm and here is another 'respected' voice on this desire. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad al-Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and ruler of Sharjah, called for the repatriation/reconversion into a mosque of the Cathedral of Cordoba. While this mosque was converted into the Cathedral at the Reconquista (~1492), it was on a 5th Century Christian Church site that the Islamic Invaders destroyed and used the stones for the mosque.
AND there is more ... After Spain was fully retaken from the near 700 year Islamic invaders, the Muslim population was first offered a better choice than the Jews, they could stay in Cordoba, practice Islam but hold allegiance to the Spanish Monarchy and be peaceful. Instead there were near constant revolts and in spite of mass conversions to Christianity, it soon became an obvious practice of taqiyya, outwardly Christian, inwardly Muslim (Moriscos). By 1568, when there was a perceived threat of an Ottoman attack to restore Al Andalus, Islamic Spain, the Spanish Inquisition focused on these Moriscos and in the early years of the 1600s, large populations were exiled back to North Africa.
Now, forward to today, and descendants (and others) of these exiles are claiming a "right of return" and a right to restoration of the properties that they 'lost'! This demand follows a new Spanish Law (2012?) that did give similar rights to exiled Spanish Jews (Sephardi) from that same period. Differences are that the Jews were in Spain from at least Roman and probably Carthaginian times and also the return population numbers in 6 digits while a return of Moriscos would be in multiple millions.

Because it was once Turkish it must always be Turkish? BTW, how are things going in Syria? Libya? The new Turkish Imperium doesn’t look to healthy right now.
The first two look to be short battles, and even Ezek: 38 looks to be shortened by an overwhelming action of G-D and not a long war.
