[Trump refused] to pledge that he would facilitate a peaceful transfer of power if he loses to former vice president Joe Biden, though that in itself was a step no previous president has taken. In doing so, he escalated his ongoing attack on mail-in ballots, seeding the ground to contest the election as rigged or fraudulent if he is not the winner and to propel the country into chaos.
Perhaps what Trump said merely reflected the mind-set of a president who knows he is running behind in his bid for a second term, one more rhetorical flailing to somehow throw the opposition off balance and to distract from the real reasons for Biden's lead in the polls. But this close to the election, anything Trump does to question the validity of the count should be regarded as serious and treated as such.
Republicans who normally stand by idle when the president says or does something outrageous pushed back against his words - though, notably, nearly all were careful neither to rebuke nor condemn the president personally. They simply pointed to a long history of peaceful transfers from one presidency to the next and stood up for the Constitution, which is the minimum expected of elected officials who have sworn an oath to defend that document.
The president's Republican allies in Congress, however, were not necessarily the principal audience for what he said about challenging the vote, nor are they the people whose views he cares about most. Instead, his attempt to discredit mail-in ballots as a way to challenge a possible Biden victory is aimed at rallying his own army of supporters, prepping them to respond, if necessary, with protests or perhaps worse if he challenges vote tabulations - and therefore the results - in the days after the election.

this story is now inserted into almost every election story on BBC, ABC Australia and no doubt in the rest of the FakeNewsMSM, while Clinton begging with Biden not to conced, no matter what, was virtually ignored.
funny how the Playboy guy had it ready as the first question of the Press Conference:
24 Sept: Deadline: Donald Trump Gave An Answer To Playboys Brian Karem & Triggered New Fears Of An Election Crisis: Nobody Was More Surprised Than Me
By Ted Johnson
The presidents answer quickly dominated cable news coverage, drew sharp rebuke from his Democratic rival Joe Biden and eventually saw a number of Senate Republicans push back albeit without using Trumps name.
By Thursday afternoon, the consternation over the remark became so great that the Senate passed a resolution by unanimous consent reaffirming that, after November 3, there would be a peaceful transfer of power...
What world do we live in where you have to have a Senate resolution to abide by the Constitution that you swore an oath to? Karem told Deadline in an interview Thursday. What can I tell you?
Karem, self-described as the loudmouth senior White House reporter for Playboy, has a long history of verbal scuffles with the president, which is why he said that even he was surprised that Trump called on him at Wednesdays press conference in the White House briefing room.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, was more surprised than me that he called on me, and not only called on me but called on me first, Karem said. I dont think hell be doing that again anytime soon. But I could be wrong. He likes the fight....
***Karem, who also is a CNN contributor, was in a legal showdown with the White House last year when then-Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham suspended his hard pass after he got in an argument with Trumps former aide Sebastian Gorka in the Rose Garden. Karem sued for his credentials to be restored and won, and a federal appellate ruled unanimously in his favor in June.
More recently, Karem has been showing up for White House briefings, often shouting questions as Trump or Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany exit the room. His attendance is despite COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the White House Correspondents Association. The WHCA is restricting the briefings to just 14 reporters, spaced apart, with outlets assigned to a seat in a pool rotation.
Karem, though, said that he started appearing at the briefings anyway after he saw that others were violating the WHCA rules namely Trump-favored outlets like One America News Network that have been there at the invitation of the White House.
He said that he limits himself to one day a week at the White House and that he respects everyone there. I dont want to get the COVID virus, and if I got it, I wouldnt want to give it to anyone.
But he said that he said to the White House staff, Look, Im not going to respect these rules if youre going to allow your friends to be in here. Im showing up....
Given that he was not in the seat rotation, Karem on Wednesday expected to be where he usually is, standing in the back of the briefing room near One America correspondent Chanel Rion. But someone did not show up to take their seat, he said, and before OAN could get that seat I plopped my butt down in it.
I was sitting there and was just happy to have a seat, Karem said. I raised my hand, and the first thing you know, he called on me. So I said: All right, strap in big boy. Lets go....
Karems opinion pieces for Playboy are highly critical of the president, but he said that he didnt consider what he asked a hard question. He said that he got the idea for his question from an article in The Atlantic titled The Election That Could Break America, which games out a scenario in which Trump subverts the result of the election.
That shouldnt have been a controversial question, he said. That shouldnt have been one that I ended up asking him twice and get in an argument with him over. Its like, Hey, this is our democracy. If you lose, are you gonna walk away peacefully, show even just a modicum of respect for the process? And he wont do it....

in 2017 Hitlery Rotten Clinton told unelected Democrats to “RESIST” this administration (and work as fifth columnists to monkeywrench his administration).
Now in 2020 Hitlery Clinton urged Biden to NOT concede.
F-this-B and WashPoo Communists.
The current election process has now been compromised and nullified due to finding ballots in ditches and dumpsters.
To be fair, the election process needs to be started over again by people going to polling stations.
It needs to be stopped every tome evidence of FRAUD is found.
There is no need for mail in voting. If we can go grocery shopping with a hundred people in the store, we can go to the polls.

***ignore that the question began with -
Q Mr. President, real quickly: ***Win, lose, or draw*** in this election, will you commit here, today, for a peaceful transferal of power after the election?
24 Sept: WaPo: The White House declines to clean up Trumps comments on a peaceful transfer of power
by Philip Bump
The first question in Thursdays White House news briefing was, predictably, about President Trumps comment Wednesday that his administration would have to see what happens before he could commit to ensuring a peaceful transfer of power, ***should he lose in November...
I wonder if you can just clean up or clarify something the president said yesterday, ABC Newss Jonathan Karl said to White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany the following afternoon. If he loses this election, can you assure us that there will be a peaceful transfer of power?...
But McEnany is not a typical press secretary, just as Trump is not a typical president.
You are referring to the question asked by the Playboy reporter, right? McEnany replied. When Karl reiterated his question, McEnany again referred to the questioners publication, pointedly emphasizing the word Playboy. She then said that the original question reflected the reporters deranged wish that Trump would leave the White House...
Its a very direct and very simple question, Karl continued. If the president loses this election, will this White House, will this president assure us that there will be a peaceful transfer of power?
The president will accept the results of a free and fair election, McEnany finally replied. She went on to disparage Democrats as being the ones unlikely to accept the elections results...
Are the results legitimate only if the president wins? NBC Newss Peter Alexander asked.
The president will accept the results of a free and fair election, McEnany replied, emphasizing free and fair as robustly as she did Playboy a short while earlier. He will accept the will of the American people....
The president wants to get rid of mass mail-out voting, McEnany replied. And thats not because it hes said clearly that that could go either way, it could damage either candidates chances because its a system thats subject to fraud.
She went on to outline evidence that she suggested supported that idea ballots found in a ditch in Wisconsin, inflated voter rolls in Los Angeles, concerns expressed by Attorney General William P. Barr, election results in New Jersey, a study from a commission co-chaired by former president Jimmy Carter...
Every claim McEnany made has been debunked, lacks context or doesnt actually make the point she claims it does. In fact, McEnany trotted all of these examples out just a few hours after we comprehensively walked through nearly all of them. Were not so vain as to think she reads everything we write, but theres been enough written about each of these subjects to make clear that mail-in ballots arent rife with fraud and, moreover, that the vast majority of votes being cast by mail arent of the sort about which Trump offers his objections...
On his way to North Carolina a few hours later, Trump made McEnanys point more explicitly.
We want to make sure the election is honest, and Im not sure that it can be, Trump told reporters. I dont know that it can be with this whole situation, unsolicited ballots.
In other words, there has been no change in the White Houses approach to any transition. Just a rephrasing.

the arrogance of the FakeNewsMSM is breath-taking.
The only way Trump loses is by Democrat cheating, pure and simple.
Dan Balz is a mullah of the liberal establishment. Total hack. Lives in the D.C. bubble.
If he sees a Trump boat flotilla, he screams, “We’ve got to confiscate all the boats!!”
PT has the momentum right now.
Thats Dan Balz who literally doesnt have them
The Washington Post, and activist ‘journalists’ longing for relevance and stature, publish yet another desperate propaganda piece in an attempt to influence the election and restore the ‘norm’ in which they have importance above that of the voting public.
The Ministry of Propaganda has turned the gaslighting up to 12.
They want us to believe that Senile Joe will somehow win. (cheating)
We should accept Senile Joe’s win no matter how bad it looks and smells.
Not accepting their cheating would be worse than upholding the Constitution and disqualifying their ineligible candidates.
Why has no one asked if Biden will ask the rioters to stand down if Trump wins?
We are going to need a separate country from these people. More need to get right with that but of reality. It’s over, as is, it is broken. We tried to fix it under its own rules. They won’t accept it. We are done with them. Time to come up with an amicable separation. It will take a wall. A tall one.
They either take drugs to knock themselves out, or drink booze until they pass out.
Dont concede the election under any circumstances.
-Hillary Clinton
