The case agent managing the FBI's investigation of Flynn told Department of Justice attorneys that a desire to "get Trump" was a major factor underlying the case against Flynn.
In a stunning and detailed interview conducted September 17 by U.S. attorney Jeff Jensen, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) case agent for the original investigation of former White House National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and who later worked on Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel blew the whistle on myriad problems that plagued those investigations from the very beginning.
FBI Special Agent William Barnett told Department of Justice (DOJ) investigators that the handling of the probes troubled him so much that he threatened to quit working on it in one case, and threatened to go to the Inspector General in another. According to the summary of Barnett’s interview, he said there was never any basis for the bizarre “collusion” theory the agency and the special counsel relentlessly pursued, to the point that agents made jokes about how they could take any piece of information and claim it was evidence of collusion. He said the Special Counsel Office (SCO) pursued Flynn simply as a means to “get Trump” and viewed FBI investigators as a “speed bump” slowing down the work of the attorneys leading the inquisition.
The broader Trump investigation was “opaque,” the case theory was “supposition on supposition,” the Flynn probe in particular was “unclear and disorganized,” and its predicate was “not great,” Barnett told investigators. According to the interview notes, he felt there was “little detail concerning specific evidence of criminal events.”

Obama’s Treasury Department regularly surveilled retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn’s financial records and transactions beginning in December 2015 and well into 2017, before, during and after when he served at the White House as President Donald Trump’s National Security Director, a former senior Treasury Department official, and veteran of the intelligence community, told the Star Newspapers. “I started seeing things that were not correct, so I did my own little investigation, because I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was correct” she said. “You never want to draw attention to something if there is not anything there.” The whistleblower said she only saw metadata, that is names and dates when the general’s financial records were accessed. “I never saw what they saw.”
By March 2016, the whistleblower said she and a colleague, who was detailed to Treasury from the intelligence community, became convinced that the surveillance of Flynn was not tied to legitimate criminal or national security concerns, but was straight-up political surveillance among other illegal activity occurring at Treasury. “When I showed it to her, what she said, ‘Oh, sh%t!’ and I knew right then and there that I was right – this was some shady stuff,” the whistleblower said. “It wasn’t just him,” the whistleblower said. “They were targeting other U.S. citizens, as well.”
Only two names are listed in the whistleblower’s official paperwork, so the others must remain sealed, she said. The second name is Paul J. Manafort Jr., the one-time chairman of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

No. Obummer and Clinton had grudges against Flynn as did the deep state intelligence community headed by Brennan and Clapper. So it was a multi-party grudge being executed.You need to understand. It's not the heads of departments that run the agencies. It's the cockroaches like ol' pudgy Vindman whose first job is to make sure no one attempts to bypass their bureaucratic prerogatives to ensure that the problem they are employed to solve never gets solved.
But why was Flynn hated and why is Judge Sullivan so determind to keep him silent?
At one time, General Michael Flynn was under the Obama regime’s direction, and he raised certain points of contention, which caused that regime to declare Flynn to be “unreliable”. But Flynn had seen many troubling things, and by going over to Team Trump, the Obama regime, in its waning days, was sure that Team Trump would learn of these misdeeds on the part of the Obama regime, and preemptively began to tarnish anything and everything about Flynn. The rumors the Obama regime spread about Flynn ended up with Team Trump dismissing him before he was fully in position, and the Obama regime had used the pretext to gain their surveillance of the Trump White House.
For the Obama regime and the Deep State, it was a twofer. Shut Flynn up for good, and get some future opposition research on Team Trump.
It worked, for a while.

Texts released yesterday showed FBI employees sarcastically pretending to care about the criminal leak of phone calls between Flynn and Kislyak to David Ignatius of the Washington Post and a reporter at the Wall Street Journal. The employees surmised that the leaks came from high-level officials at the White House.

Because if Flynn is exonerated, it shows the whole deep state plot against President Trump was just that, a silent coup in an attempt to undo a presidential election.

Then when Clinesmith cops a plea, suddenly you remember things and are turning against the others.
He’s trash and should face arrest.
He could have told America this on the day after Trump was inaugurated or over before. All he had to do was walk out on the steps of the FBI building and have a couple of reporters there. Hand out supporting documents. He could have secretly recorded them and released the recordings.
Maybe he would lose his job, maybe he would face arrest from corrupt prosecutors. So he did nothing and now wants to be a “whistleblower”?
Soldiers do their job and put their nation first every day even though they risk their very life to do so.
We can take what this guy says and use it as a weapon, but let’s not pretend he is a good guy or a white hat. He let the criminals continue their work and hid them from daylight.
