Justice Dept. disclosures cast fresh doubt on Trump-Russia investigation

The Justice Department has released a pair of documents casting fresh doubt on the judgment of senior law enforcement officials who investigated possible links between Russia and the Trump campaign in 2016, showing that one of the FBI case agents thought prosecutors were out to “get Trump” and that a key source of allegations against the president had been previously investigated as a possible Russian asset.

The disclosures come as President Trump and his allies await the results of an investigation by Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham into how U.S. intelligence agencies examined Russian election interference four years ago. Instead, Thursday night saw one disclosure made to Congress and another made to the courts.

It’s still uncertain whether Durham will issue any findings before Election Day, but the two releases may serve a similar purpose: providing fresh ammunition for conservatives’ arguments that the FBI’s pursuit of the president was unfair and unfounded.

"In a 476-page report issued last year, Horowitz found there was not evidence that political bias affected decisions in the investigation."

The compost just had to continue to be fake news, not finding evidence is not the same as "there was not evidence"

“””””In a 476-page report issued last year, Horowitz found there was not evidence that political bias affected decisions in the investigation.” “””””””””

I watched that hearing. He was very careful with his weasel words. He said he did not see any physical evidence of bias which means nobody wrote a note in big red letters that said...I AM DOING THIS BECAUSE I HATE TRUMP.

He fooled the slow kids.

... That’s why all the FBI and DOJ investigators bought liability insurance.

Horowitz scope and investigative powers as an IG were limited. He did not find because he only had the power to ASK for evidence, testimony and other data used to get at the truth. Durham has total AG powers.

Trump knows All and has known All since way before he even fired coming back in 2017

His lawyers are way better than the hacks at the DOJ and other government institutions

Are used to think that they would hand down indictments before the election but now I think it’s completely unnecessary Trump is utterly going to eviscerate Joe Biden it’s gonna be like 1984 and he knows it so he’s just gonna give us some drip drip drip drip drip all the way through the election

I for one am more than happy about it because it gives the Talking Heads something to talk about for a few days here and there

Anybody to bet that’s been following the fake Russia hoax bull crap from the gecko knows the whole thing was a set up it was all the gotcha thing to get him to fire Mueller and then they would’ve impeached him but he didn’t do that Mueller ended up being a big no-show and then they tried a bunch of other crap but they’re on their own road now -no pub support

that being said the lying stinking Democrats. Will try something.

I think they’re out of anmo

All of the errors and omissions went ONE way, against Trump. How is that just a coincidence?

The IG Report was done without benefit of being able to charge or indict meaning witnesses/suspects could lie with impunity.

In a 476-page report issued last year, Horowitz found there was not evidence that political bias affected decisions in the investigation.

That is utterly untrue. Horowitz said that he did not find documentation or open statement of political bias, and clarified that there were a number of actions which were not explainable - in other words no one wrote down that they were doing it for political bias, nor explicitly and directly confessed to political bias when asked.

Horowitz expressed disbelief at alternate explanations given by various of those investigated.
