Maybe Texas will secede in my lifetime. We might get some neighboring states to go as well.

Ditto. This would set off secessionist movements everywhere in the country. If they can pull off quackery like this, why not? Running the country would become like herding cats.

If they do not pay the 66 Trillion dollars
they owe Native Americans by years end,
the entire Law School should be given to
Native Americans, and the lawyers should
go to GITMO for SEDITION.

Wasn’t DC originally parts of Virginia and Maryland? Go ahead and give it back. Then give the other, red parts of Virginia to West Virginia (there is also historical precedent there), and divide up California.

I walk through Harvard Square frequently and walk right past one of Harvard Law School's entrances (not the main entrance) frequently as well.If I had any courage I'd bring a half gallon bottle of gasoline and a lighter with me on one of my visits.

I'm too lazy to look it up but I'm wondering how new states are admitted to the Union. Is it a simple majority vote in Congress? If so,can the President veto it? Or is it more like a Constitutional Amendment...requiring 38 state legislatures to approve?

Morons at the Harvard Law Review can’t even comprehend that we are a Republic and not a Democracy.

This is exactly the kind of thing Republicans should be shouting from the rooftops at voters. This is what the Democrats want - to overthrow the constitution via VERY undemocratic means, to just blow up America’s history, culture and values, to sweep away people’s constitutional rights they don’t happen to like (goodbye 1st and 2nd amendments), etc.
A vote for Demoocrats is a vote for destroying America and implementing cultural Marxist totalitarianism.

Oh, you mean a peaceful protest. Well, those are encouraged and celebrated these days, so I say have at it.

That’s exactly what would happen...and that’s what would need to happen. If they’re going to go for undemocratic unconstitutional power grabs, Red State America needs to secede. The Left can then decide if it wants a massive and bloody war in order to try to force the rest of us back in - a war they could very easily lose - or if they wouldn’t be better off just letting people who they hate anyway go their separate way. The one thing that is certain is we cannot allow ourselves to submit to these Marxist totalitarians.

Last I looked Puerto Rico has voted against becoming a state every single time.
Puerto Ricans directly rejected statehood at the ballot box in plebiscites held in 1967, 1993, and 1998. In 2012 and 2017, the people rejected the entire process outright. Some years back, the Puerto Rican independence movement launched over a hundred terrorist attacks in the United States, killing many Americans. What makes you think they will let anyone force them to become a state?
Trump may well turn round and let Puerto Rico go and become an independent country. Nobody wants colonies these days. I don't see the need for or use of any colonies, let Lone Puerto Rico.
Guam and and Virgin Islands will become states? Will you excuse me shile I laugh? Not gonna happen.
To: FreedomVsControl
They are idiots and this wouldn’t work. If this was proposed I can think of many other “states” that would want statehood...South and Central New Jersey, Upstate NY, Eastern California, the list goes on and on...

One other thing they are not counting on.
You have to have 2/3rds of the states vote to accept any Constitutional Amendment.
