Collins was in the “No” camp with Kavanaugh, too.
At least, that’s what her staffers said early on.

Dear Lord,
Give that man the wisdom of Solomon in the decisions he makes in the upcoming weeks.
Protect him from the rabid attacks of the enemy and in Your mercy, give us another four years of his leadership for our nation.
And please, turn this nation back to you.
Amen

Force the wavering RINOs to actually cast a vote.
Smoke them out once and for all. There is utility in that.

Sleepy Creepy Slow Joe has already pledged to nominate a
Black woman to the position.
Maybe he got confused and thought he was still making his VP selection...

Joe Biden has asked Trump to “do your job”.
The only reason RBG wasn’t replaced a year ago is RBG.

By waiting until the weekend, he keeps this topic on the front burner all week and into the debate. Trump dictating the agenda and tempo. Good.

Not good, every minute that passes makes the pre election vote less likely. he should have announced it this afternoon.

Give the Democrats at least a week to monkey everything up. What could possibly go wrong?
To: karpov
Do the two ladies think Trump is no longer the duly elected President of this country and therefore not eligible to nominate a USSC replacement?
Unless that is the case, their logic defies even the mildest consideration. In fact, it's just plain stupid.

It’s not that we have to smoke RINOs out. We know who they are. Most represent states that aren’t ideologically conservative. I don’t have a problem with Susan Collins. Maine is a socially liberal state on abortion. I would rather have her vote on the 90% of issues I care about than having a leftist replacement who actively fights the conservative agenda. Murkowski is just a gunch.

Two Republican senatorsSens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaskabroke ranks this weekend, saying they oppose action on a nomination before the presidential election. They have said they oppose action on a nomination before the election. That's not the same as saying they will vote "no" on the nominee once that action is taken and the nomination is brought to a vote.
To: gibsonguy
I agree. What is to be gained by delaying, unless McConnell has asked for the time to whip his votes?
