A 6-3 conservative majority would push the court yet further to the right and eliminate any possibility that a sitting conservative such as Chief Justice John Roberts might serve as a moderating force and occasionally join with the liberal bloc to preserve critical rights and precedent.

The court doesn’t uphold precedents. Whether it is slavery or homosexuality the court has flipflopped numerous times in history.

The only thing wrong with this article is the 6-3 majority mentioned in the second sentence. John Roberts is no longer trustworthy, so it would be more like 5-4.

Sort of like “all” the accolades being heaped on the bader gang. If one believes in her ideology and philosophy then yeah, she was awesome. All good except the “6-3 majority” part. I’d put it at 5-4, given the tendency of roberts to cave to the blackmailers.
Roberts says Judges are “apolitical”. We know that is not true and it is obvious. Allegedly (although I find the story quite convenient), RBG said from her deathbed that she did not want Trump to replace her.
I think over time more and more of the RBG fans are going to realize that her refusal to step down at the end of Obama’s second term in the face of overwhelming health issues did in fact betray her “politics”.
If we juxtapose the same “political objectives” on Thomas or Alito, we might well be saying the same thing in January of 2021. Then again, I don’t think either of them wear their politics like RBG as they view the constitution as constraint upon government (GOP view) vs a living document subject to shifting winds of opinion (RBG view).
