I see Trump nominating Amy Coney Barrett and hearings as a plus. It doesn't need to be voted on before the election.

The Democrats will prove once an for all that not only do they hate all White men (like Brett Kavanaugh), they hate all White women who have families. Most White women don't understand that.

The Census Bureau estimates that 76.3% of the US population is White alone. That's a far higher number than what you might think just looking at TV commercials.

I was speaking with a newly-arrived Martian the other day; he (she? it?) told me that, according to TV commercials he had viewed since arriving, 76.3% of the US population is actually black, drives a late model BMW and lives in a beautiful mini-mansion on a sprawling estate.

Exactly! She is brilliant (as are other candidates). Make her and the hearings both part of the election campaign. If Trump is down, to be extreme, 15 points in the polls with two weeks to go, Mitt Romney and several others will never vote yes. If Trump is up, say 15 points in the polls with two weeks to go, there is no need for a pre-election vote.

The threat of holding the vote is immensely valuable, but I have a hard time imagining how it makes sense for President Trump or M. McConnell to actually follow through on an election-eve vote as long as the Dems behave. I see huge advantages to making the nomination, holding the hearings, daring the Dems to trash the nominee, and then waiting to see how the election turns out before scheduling the vote. PDJT, M. McConnell and (ugh) Mitt Romney together hold the winning hand on this.
