We will elect a Democrat next time. To HELL with fake republicans who only vote moderately or conservatively once in awhile and stab the country in the back all the rest of the time. She says no and the nominee hadn’t even been announced yet! To H with Collins, d—-it!

Given the likelihood of Supreme Court challenges to certain states’ election results, how can you NOT replace the dead judge?

Women in politics are schizoid

Sadly, I'm inclined to agree. Moreover, I don't care for the typical female judge either. And I am a woman myself. :(

Maine moderates will not refuse to vote for her because she will abstain from the SC vote. Also, the Pubbies can lose three and Pence can cast the deciding cite.
However, that won’t be necessary. As Collins and Murkowski look to be the only ones to abstain. Mittens last night said that all reports about him doing so are not accurate.

I agree. Se needed to hold the freaking base and enough republicans are going to leave her to cost her the election.

She caved to the threats of violence.

I will banish her name from my posts from now on.

Maybe I’ll call her Pussy Gallore?

Who thought she would? She knows she’s already toast in Maine, why not stab us in the back on the way out? <<

Just like her “sister “ before her...Olympia Snowe...She was the Mother of Obama Care by voting it out of committee!

I'm in Maine..I'm not only going to NOT vote for her....I may vote for Gedieon out of spite...

If you’re looking for wiggle room, you’re ignoring the obvious, she thinks the next President should appoint the Justice.

Have the New York Times and Washington Post sent teams of reporters up to get her every word? Hey Susan Collins we have a place where your vote is known... it's called "The Senate". YOUR vote doesn't have to be on the front page of newspapers. Really.

Have YOU Susan Collins noticed that newspapers NEVER cover maverick democrats? Never. If a Democrat stands against their own party the press ignores that person. Liberal play you for a fool Susan.

“ And she’s gone! ”

The only people who will miss her rancid, sorry ass are the lobbyists and foreign countries that purchased her.

It’s not a matter of revenge. The dems just want power, and to get it, if they take both houses and Biden wins, they will pack the court by creating new justices. If that happens, it will not matter who replaces RBG.

Tres suprise!

Collins has always been a turncoat trying to explain why she is a turncoat.

If there was any reason that women should not have the right to vote or even be in politics...it would be Collins.

“And she’s gone”

She’s gone anyway. She must still think she can pull it off (she can’t), if she voted “yes” it would have ended her dream before election day as whatever support she still had collapsed.

Voting “no” is simply a cope, a chance to live the dream for a few more weeks.

It doesn’t mean that she would either. If you think that she is a Trump supporter, you are in for a surprise.

The only two Democrats who might cross over would be the ones in Alabama (Doug Jones) and in West Virginia (Joe Manchin), but Jones may think he is going to lose anyway, and Manchin isn't up for re-election until 2024 so he may figure that how he votes in 2020 will be long forgotten by then.

Eisenhower named a Supreme Court justice in October 1956 when he was running for re-election. Of course there probably weren't a lot of people who expected him to lose to Adlai Stevenson.
