The CDC director has doubled down on masks, but is he wrong?

The CDC has had more prominence this year than usual, thanks to the Wuhan virus. However, when America looked to it for help, it wasn't ready, whether with tests or useful advice. Its lack of preparedness might have been because the CDC's been expending its time and your money training its people in Critical Race Theory (CRT) rather than disease control. And while I'm currently agnostic about a vaccination's efficacy (I need a lot more information), I'm also suspicious when the CDC's director, Dr. Robert Redfield, announces that his surgical mask is what will save him and what will save all of us.

Interesting, progressive CDC head honcho waits this long to push masks, after all the science demonstrates masks have zero efficacy and required protocols about touching your mask etc

Some people are more inclined to be a herd animal.
And then they get all worked up into a self righteousness frenzy if you won’t be part of their herd planning.

There is a whole lot of fraud going on and I suggest everyone read the info here:

swprs.org

So far, most studies found little to no evidence for the effectiveness of cloth face masks in the general population, neither as personal protective equipment nor as a source control.

A May 2020 meta-study on pandemic influenza published by the US CDC found that face masks had no effect, neither as personal protective equipment nor as a source control. (Source)
A July 2020 review by the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medince found that there is no evidence for the effectiveness of cloth masks against virus infection or transmission. (Source)
A Covid-19 cross-country study by the University of East Anglia found that a mask requirement was of no benefit and could even increase the risk of infection. (Source)
An April 2020 review by two US professors in respiratory and infectious disease from the University of Illinois concluded that face masks have no effect in everyday life, neither as self-protection nor to protect third parties (so-called source control). (Source)
An article in the New England Journal of Medicine from May 2020 came to the conclusion that cloth face masks offer little to no protection in everyday life. (Source)
An April 2020 Cochrane review (preprint) found that face masks in the general population or health care workers didn’t reduce influenza-like illness (ILI) cases. (Source)
An April 2020 review by the Norwich School of Medicine (preprint) found that “the evidence is not sufficiently strong to support widespread use of facemasks”, but supports the use of masks by “particularly vulnerable individuals when in transient higher risk situations.” (Source)
A July 2020 study by Japanese researchers found that cloth masks “offer zero protection against coronavirus” due to their large pore size and generally poor fit. (Source)
A 2015 study in the British Medical Journal BMJ Open found that cloth masks were penetrated by 97% of particles and may increase infection risk by retaining moisture or repeated use. (Source)

Silence! In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check.

If you dig through my posts way back, probably April or even March, I went to the CDC web site and did searches for “Diversity”, “Transgender” and “Climate Change” and posted the results here. There were thousands of hits. Does anyone think any of these topics have anything to do with disease control? Does anyone think the content to support thousands of hits came cheap, in time or money?

At this point, you’d need to work hard to convince me why we shouldn’t disband the whole thing and start over from scratch.

This ongoing scam of backing up Democrat political strategies with scientific or medical “authority” poses a tremendous danger to the viability of the Republic.

Depends on who wins the election. If Trump wins, this thing is done, partly because Trump will have more “flexibility” to call it what it is.

We may be able to put our masks away sometime next year, but keep them close because future mandates will happen again.

Meanwhile, Idaho cancelled it all. It’s business as usual now, just like in South Dakota.

I use an N095 mask whenever I’m working in my woodshop and creating a lot of sawdust. But that’s it. When I’m in a store that requires masks, I don’t bother wearing one unless someone says something - which is rare. And when they do insist, I pull out my five month old costco free mask with nine 1/4” slits cut in it so I can breathe. Nobody says anything then.

I understand that this is hyperbole, but I honestly see masks as similar to seeing yellow stars on people in early 30’s germany. I bristle at the state requiring it, and I lose a great deal of respect for Americans that acquiesce because they honestly think they NEED to wear a mask. And that loss of respect is permanent. I simply see them differently.

If this nation is going to actually get what it deserves, we’re in a heap o’ trouble.

The mask thing is his opinion.

You know what they say about opinions.

It's all bullchit!

I remember, clearly, when the knowledgeable opinion was that masks were absolutely worthless.

By the way, it would be impossible to have a BIG10 football season this year, unless...
