Witness, documents emerge to undercut Homeland whistleblower championed by Schiff

The whistleblower alleges top Department of Homeland Security political appointees told career officials to alter intelligence assessments, but emails and witness to contradict that claim

The Trump administration is producing documents and a senior Homeland Security Department witness to undercut allegations made by the latest federal whistleblower to be championed by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

The developments Tuesday involve a whistleblowing complaint filed by Brian Murphy, Homeland's former head of intelligence, who alleged Trump officials sought to censor or manipulate intelligence for political purposes.

According to three officials with direct knowledge, Homeland Security Deputy General Counsel Ian Brekke plans to tell the Intelligence Committee in a transcribed interview Tuesday that Murphy improperly ordered the surveillance of journalists he believed had obtained his leaked work emails.

Brekke also plans to testify that no superiors at Homeland ever instructed Murphy to surveil journalists or to manipulate intelligence concerning Homeland threats, such as Russian and other foreign efforts to interfere in the U.S. election or terrorism concerns about white supremacists, the three officials said.

Brekke's account is to be backed by emails and other documents showing Murphy was not ordered to manipulate intelligence reports by Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolfe, the officials said.

CBS News earlier Tuesday obtained emails disputing the claims by Murphy, including one which read "the acting secretary has never given me any direction on what to do Regarding [sic] threats."

PDJT and his team are not going to let this “false complaint” to get traction like the Ukraine complaint did. They know how Schiff operates and are putting out the facts contradicting the “complainer” before Schiff can hold secret interviews and spin it against the President and his Cabinet.

This is good. The MSM will try to ignore the facts but the Secretary is going to make sure that the facts are aired on C-Span during the hearing, before the hearing and after the hearing.

Schiff has repeatedly abused the power of his chairmanship and should have been removed when the Mueller investigation was complete, or when DNI Ric Grenell exposed the testimony that Schiff tried to hide as 'classified' that exonerated Trump of Russian collusion. The Republicans are near worthless.

By Pelosi by the rule... but the 'pubbies, being in the minority, should have done what the Dems would have done were the tables turned the other way. For example, in the most partisan impeachment commission ever held, with Schiff declaring testimonies exculpatory to POTUS 'classified' (thus prohibiting 'pubbies from revealing the truth), the GOP should have made a big uproar and interrupted the hearings, demanding Schiff be removed. The MSM would tear them up, so they sit in silence instead of drawing public opinion to what is going on.

Schiff kept testimonies secret concerning Russian collusion and repeatedly came out of the hearings claiming there was clear evidence of treason; the 'pubbies stayed silent, leading to the $30 mil Mueller investigation and tying POTUS' hands for two years to conduct foreign policy and leading to the appointment of Wm Barr as AG. POTUS has to carry the load alone.

Schiff conspired with DS people - ICIG, Vindman, the whistleblower, others - to set up a fake impeachment... where is the GOP uproar? A huge portion of Americans are unaware of any of this.

This GOP does not represent me and I believe most of FR, most conservative patriots. While the Dems will pull all sorts of questionable tactics to achieve what they want, the GOP sits in fear of the MSM. - AND many of them complicit in the chaining of Donald Trump.
