Sandill (Democratic Party) is running for re-election for judge of the Texas 127th District Court. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2020. He advanced from the Democratic primary on March 3, 2020.

watcha bet his name is on the ballot!

talk about a conflict of interest.

It’s crap. The case was originally assigned to Frederica Phillips of the 61st District Court, who (surprisingly) did the right thing and recused herself on her own initiative because she is on the ballot. For some reason the case was re-assigned to Judge Sandill rather than any of the dozen civil district judges in Harris County who are either not up for re-election this year, the 3 who lost their primaries, or the two who are unopposed.

I am not surprised at all that Sandill did not recuse himself and ruled the way he did. He’s a punk. Fun fact: His name is Ravinder, and he goes by Ravi to his friends, but is sure to run as “R.K.” on the ballot because he is afraid people won’t vote for an Indian.

Full disclosure: I have a personal/professional beef with him, but I knew he was a bad judge even before that happened.

I am trying to see if the AG filed a motion to recuse Sandill, but, surprise surprise, the incompetent Democrat Harris County District Clerk’s site is down.
