Zionists and Jewish citizens of Israel are not colonists, and this has nothing to do with their skin color. It has everything to do with the causes, roots and historical processes of Zionism.
(July 6, 2020) Black Lives Matter and other anti-Israel, far-left “activists” have often accused Israel of being a “colonialist” state or pursuing “settler colonial pursuits.”
The 2001 article “Forgetting Europe: Perspectives on the debate about Zionism and colonialism” by Professor Avi Bareli, who teaches at the Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, is an important read that could help them better understand the issue.<.p>
First, one should fully understand the primary goal of colonialism—it was an “aggregate of material phenomena—geographical, economic, political and social—and its focus was chiefly economic,” points out Bareli.
As colonialism was basically a material phenomenon, the economic context of Zionism or the Jews’ right to self-determination in their ancient homeland of Israel, as well as the economic profitability of the Jewish immigration to Israel, should be investigated. Bareli explains:
“The Jewish settlement in Palestine transferred capital in an opposite direction to that of colonization projects: it invested Jewish capital in Palestine and did not withdraw natural resources and capital from it to benefit an empire or enrich investors (whether investors in the home country or among the colonists themselves). That is, it was not an effort to gain riches for some imperial state or an enterprise conducted by settlers in pursuit of wealth. For a long time—and perhaps still today—it was actually an unprofitable project. It certainly was not a promising arena for individuals or groups who aspired to get rich...

This article is of interest to the US because of its focus on the Black Lives Matters (Marxist) movement here. I have spent a lot of time over the years trying to understand the divides among Jewish people. Our North East Leftist Jews vs those who live in Israel are a strange connection.
In my opinion, BLM is a terrorist organization, it is anti semitic, it is (hard) Marxist, and is a hate group which embraces the so called (Muslim) Palestinians.

My family has a long history of working with a large local black family. They have helped care for my elderly family members for over 10 years. Wonderful people, good Christians. But the black community has elements that defy that model.

If it is a “colonialist movement,” so what? Why play the name shame game? Why is that bad? Actually, that’s a secondary question. What “colonialist movement” even means is the top question before you ever get to why that’s bad. They probably can’t even say. Don’t agree to their premise.
This seems like Semitics battling over semantics. I’m sure the conservative side will counterattack with “the liberals are the real colonialist movement” which would be both accurate and ineffective.

The reason I posted the excerpt is the fact that it dealt with this BLM insanity and that impacts the USA. But it also affects Israel, which is the reason the author wrote it. BLM partners with the (so called) Palestinians (Muslims who are hate filled). The US Press will never ever tell the truth about this stuff. Like our NE Leftist Jews who side with everyone of our enemies. It is insane to support this stuff.
