YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Yellowstone National Park administrators say a trailer hauling gasoline spilled about 3,000 gallons of gasoline after overturning in the park while en route to a delivery.

The tandem trailer being hauled by a tanker overturned Thursday morning between Fishing Bridge and Mud Volcano in an area where the Grand Loop Road runs near the Yellowstone River, park officials said.

A lot of those gasoline haulers get paid by the load, so they tend to lead foot it.

Somehow the enemies of John Dutton must be involved!!

In the season 3 final episode, a bomb goes off in Beth’s office, someone in a “trailer trash” van guns John Dutton down roadside, and multiple gun shots are heard outside of Kaycee’s office door (and Kacycee tips his desk over, grabs his gun and gets ready to shoot).

Jamie is okay. So is Rip—which is good. We’re going to need Rip to take care of business and then get rid of all the bodies.

3000 gallons is about a half a transport load. It should clean up pretty easy, if it’s gasoline most of it will flash off before it does much damage to the soil. If it’s diesel it flash’s off a little slower but doesn’t soak in very deep.

I work for an Fortune 500 electric utility company. If there is so little as one half cup of mineral oil (transformer insulating fluid) that spills on a road, the EPA treats the spill as if it went directly into a river or public waterway.

The EPA regs say we must report the spill by phone to the EPA within ONE HOUR. The 1972 Clean Water Act requires this.

Not making this up.

After nearly a week, crews are still working to clean up a 3,000-gallon gasoline spill inside Yellowstone National Park.

Yellowstone National Park and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality are working together to complete the hazmat cleanup of approximately 3,000-gallons of unleaded gasoline that spilled when a tandem trailer overturned last week between Mud Volcano and the Fishing Bridge junction.

To do this, they’ve dug a hole – 100 feet wide by 100 feet long by 10 feet deep – to see the extent of the spill and removed the contaminated soil.

The road remains closed for at least the next week. They need to refill that hole and restore the road before traffic can safely resume.

The spill occurred August 27 as the commercial vehicle towing the tandem trailer was transporting gasoline to park facilities. The road was closed that same day.

Park officials have opened an investigation into the incident which is still ongoing, but there is still no evidence that any of spill found its way into the Yellowstone River.

CASPER, Wyo. — A Yellowstone National Park guide is facing criminal charges for violating park rules.

A National Park Service officer alleges in a criminal complaint that he found evidence that Theodore “Ted” Garland gave an unauthorized guided tour, trespassed on a thermal ground, led a person to a closed area and got too close to a black bear that was feeding.

Each of the 17 misdemeanor counts is punishable by up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $5,000 and up to five years of probation.
