A spokesperson for former CIA Director John Brennan said Friday that federal prosecutor John Durham told the former intelligence chief in their interview that he is not the subject or target of a criminal probe.
“Earlier today former CIA Director John Brennan was interviewed by U.S. Attorney John Durham on issues related to Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election,” spokesperson and former CIA Deputy Chief of Staff Nick Shapiro said in a statement. “Brennan was informed by Mr. Durham that he is not a subject or a target of a criminal investigation and that he is only a witness to events that are under review.”
Shapiro also said that Brennan was interviewed for 8 hours, during which time the discussion covered a “wide range of intelligence-related activities undertaken by CIA before the November 2016 presidential election as well as the Intelligence Community Assessment published in early January 2017.”
Brennan led the CIA under the Obama administration as it and other intelligence agencies arrived at the conclusion that Russia had interfered in the 2016 election. According to an Intelligence Community Assessment cited by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper in Senate testimony, Russia used cyber operations against both political parties and that “President Putin directed and influenced [a] campaign to erode the faith and confidence of the American people in our presidential election process. Second, that he did so to demean Secretary Clinton, and third, that he sought to advantage Mr. Trump.” Russia’s meddling did not extend to actual vote tallying and no intelligence or evidence was found to suggest that any votes were changed as a result of the interference.

This decision probably encouraged Brennan to lie thru his teeth.

I'm pretty sure that Michael Flynn, George Papadouplous, Roger Stone, etc. "were not a target" when they were interviewed.

“Mr. Brennan, thanks for coming in today; you are not a target of the Russiagate investigation, and we look forward to your full cooperation...blah, blah, blah...”
Since there is clear evidence that either Brennan or Comey lied to Congress over the Steele Dossier, both are potential targets...one or both of them lied...

No. EG, Flynn. Never said a word to him and did not advise him of his rights. Brennan had his lawyer present, so no need to advise him of anything...in my opinion.
Yes, as I remember that is what POTUS said about their conversation. Should he not be charged with lying to his commanding ‘officer’?
Michael Cohen and Roger Stone were NOT part of the 2016 Trump campaign.

Trump was definitely the target but was today he was not so I take this with a grain of salt. OTOH, there will be no justice for the abuses of power in “spy gate”

If Brennan was told he’s not a target he would have not even shown up or walked the second someone said that, so as to keep the hoax as intact as possible.
He doesn’t care about the appearance of cooperation with Bar. He’s a crook, he’d bounce and then tell everyone he stayed and answered every question.
He’s been caught and more charges will be coming. Simple answer is the most likely.
