There are not that many black doctors....so where did they get the data? Indeed, how could they tell from the doctor's names what was their race?

But there are a lot of Pakistani, Indian, Korean, Filipino doctors. Were these doctors listed as white or black?

Because inner city hospitals who care for high risk childbirth cases tend to have a higher child mortality, and also tend to have more foreign medical graduates working there and training there.

That said, lack of community based health centers with ties to the community might lower mortality, since these centers can outreach to the community to get better prenatal care.

The black community has a distrust of doctors dating back to the Tuskegee study...and then there was the lesser known Oklahoma City non treatment study for children with meningomyelocoels, where “social factors” were included into the treatment decision, so the majority of non treatment cases were black or minority children.

Same sort of stats twist. Midwives have a better mortality rate than obstetricians. Of course midwives refer any and all high risk pregnancies to the obstetricians. Which skews their numbers.
