California Gov. Gavin Newsom: Time to ‘Sober Up’ About Green Energy’s Flaws
Breitbart ^ | 08/17/2020 | Joel B Pollak

Posted on 08/18/2020 7:16:27 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday that the state had to “sober up” about the fact that renewable energy sources had failed to provide enough power for the state at peak demand, and needed “backup” and “insurance” from other sources.

Newsom addressed journalists and the public in the midst of ongoing electricity blackouts that began on Friday, as hundreds of thousands of Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) customers in northern and central California lost power.

I would say “grow up” rather than “sober up”, but he’s in the right neighborhood.

>> Though the state would continue its “transition” to 100% renewable energy, Newsom said, “we cannot sacrifice reliability as we move forward in this transition.”

So, he admits there are flaws in relying on “unicorn power” for electricity, they are going to do it anyway, knowing that it will fail.

Cuomo is closing the Indian Point Power Plant that provides 25% of the electricity for the New York metropolitan area. He is not allowing new gas lins or fracking. Next summer will be hellish in New York. Any business or individual that can get out of New York should get out now.

Hey! Are you implying that Biden’s promise to have 100% “alternative” power for America is not wise? I mean... what could possibly go wrong with that? /sarc

Hell no! Make them keep it. They worked for it. They wanted it. Let them enjoy it.

Selling failed energy sources, or shoving the failed energy sources down the throats of his slaves and taxing us? Maybe he didn’t read about these Israelite people and a guy named Moishe, the ten plagues,’LET MY PEOPLE GO!”

Will God passover and part the waters and hear our cry?

“So we will double down”

Californians should turn their air conditioners on full blast and open the doors and windows this afternoon. The sooner that Newsom is gone the better.

The only reason I would go solar is so that I could survive off the grid when someone like Newsom decides to cut off the grid from me.

Though the state would continue its “transition” to 100% renewable energy, Newsom said, “we cannot sacrifice reliability as we move forward in this transition.”

This is why policticans are thought to be two faced.

The fact is that in today’s world with today’s technology no state or nation can be 100% renewable.

So the only thing Newsome has learned is that there is a limit to what Californians will put up with. I am sure he has been taking heat from the voters. So he is out saying the right words but they are meaningless as long as they put restriction on where the utility companies can buy energy.

I’m in CA. Californians are simply buying generators—even whole house generators. They probably will still vote the same. It’s like people will vote the same REGARDLESS of what our tyrannical governor (etc) does.

An idled coal/oil/natural gas power plant can cost MORE than one in constant use due to start-up and maintenance, I would think.

Anyone dedicated to “green” power is “red” inside.
