Portland policemen should be eternally ashamed of themselves. They are not police. Take your pensions losers at least you are sucking taxpayer money from filthy democrats which is about your only worthwhile accomplishment.

Some of the ones getting out will get jobs in jurisdictions that treat them better. Are they jerks too? Asking for a....oh the hell with it, I'm asking.

I totally disagree. These people are not being backed by the same people that are in charge of them. This is like sending troops to a war zone and the Pentagon not supporting them at all.

But OK, taking your statement as written, just what are the cops of Portland supposed to do when the police force and the city are under siege and the cops can do nothing about it?

If you were getting a figurative broom handle jammed up your arse every day with no relief in sight and had the opportunity to exercise your right of leaving the job you’d stick around and take the pounding?

“Portland policemen should be eternally ashamed of themselves. They are not police.”

Easy to say when you are pounding your keyboard on FR. But, if you were a beat cop or riot cop in Portland, what would you do? You go crack heads or shoot them, you’d be in prison for 20 years. Your hands are tied by your superiors and that backs upstream to the mayor and city council. All along that chain, if you buck your superiors you are fired (at best) or imprisoned (at worst).

Honestly, your only alternative is to leave the force.

Slowly, pro-police PACs and support groups are emerging. I read of a LEO PAC the other day. But they are slow organizing (within the constraints of the law, unlike BLM and antifa) and will be slow to effect real change (again, compare the unlawful antifa / marxist crap).

So, what would you do? Crack heads and possibly face 20 years in prison? Keep your head down, follow orders, and collect your paycheck? Or quit or retire?
