In an e-mail sent by his campaign on Monday, President Donald Trump said wearing masks is “something we should all try to do.”
“Friend,” the letter opens, “I know how difficult the past few months have been. Your unwavering support during this time has not gone unnoticed.” But rather than push for a “contribution,” this time President Trump is asking his supporters for a different sort of help.
“We are all in this together,” the e-mail, signed by Trump, continued, “and while I know there has been some confusion surrounding the usage of face masks, I think it’s something we should all try to do when we are not able to be socially distanced from others.”

Fewer people died in the US in the first six months of this year than died in the same period of 2018.
The fraudulent practice of attributing deaths to covid that have nothing to do with it, and then using the false numbers to affect the national mindset, is what is amazing.
Possibly more amazing is that some people still haven’t figured the game out yet.

It’s been said in past election years that 40% of the people vote democrat and 40% vote republican almost without fail. It’s the uninformed, clueless 20% in the middle that must be appealed to.
People like my nephew’s wife, who, in 2016, stood in the voting booth, using her phone to read about which candidate to vote for. Or, a well-known local sports radio personality, who, the day before the 2016 election, called the conservative political show on a sister station and literally asked them who to vote for. He had no clue. The guy is in his 60s and completely clueless politically, but knows sports like a religion.
Those types of people are the problem demographic.

Sorry, done with this game. There is room for doubt in some cases, but oldsters in hospital with the crap in their lungs is pretty clear. Some sick are not as clear but COVID hangs for a longer time than a normal flu, up to 3 weeks.

You are not just probably, but likely right. The real number is probably about 30,000 less. But, a normal flu season sees 90,000 - 300,000 deaths.

I’m in a rural Trump supporting area.
Our “cases” have quadrupled, and hospitalizations tripled, in the last ten days1.
The problem is that masks don’t reduce your exposure and they don’t reduce the spread of your particles to others. If you are sick stay home. If you are well, you don’t have any business wearing a mask.
Staying out of people’s faces works, but its the people you hug who are going to get you. Staying in air conditioned spaces without UV treatment of the recycled air is how many people get this from strangers.
But, I am outraged by the statement that has nothing to lose.. because they abandoned reason to support madness. The lockdowns didn’t work and the masks don’t work. It is theater and you are good with it. I am not.
