Seattle police have released bodycam footage revealing how protesters have targeted and injured officers by throwing explosives, rocks and bottles in a riot over the weekend.
Nearly 60 Seattle police officers were injured in Saturday clashes with anti-police demonstrators and one was hospitalized as a riot was declared in the city. The police department released video footage of Saturday's unrest where cops dodged explosives, flying bottles and pieces of wood during a protest in Capitol Hill.
During the Saturday protest a large group of demonstrators tried to destroy the East Precinct police department building, shattering windows, burning holes and damaging walls using explosives. The East Precinct station house was the location of the since-dismantled 'Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone' (CHAZ) or the 'Capitol Hill Occupation Protest', which was cleared on July 1.
The video features footage from four different police body-cameras from throughout Saturday.
In three of them small explosives are thrown into groups of police officers, releasing plumes of smoke and burning officers. In the final clip a wooden plank is thrown into a group of cops by demonstrators.
'In all 59 officers were injured throughout the day with one of those being hospitalized. Injuries ranged from abrasions and bruising to burns and a torn meniscus,' the department said.

The Dragon Club was an all ranks two story bar on Fort Bragg back in the 70’s.
Sometimes a whole bar fight would break out, tables and chairs flying everywhere.
It was less than a block from the main post MP station.
When a big fight broke out they would send over 6 very large MPs. They would come in the front door in a wedge with night sticks swinging. By the time they made it to the back with a number of bodies on the floor the place settled down pretty quick.
They likely have no legal grounds to do so.
However, you are exactly correct. It is the Leftist politicians who are allowing, and, in essence, promoting this behavior.
They are so far down the leftist rabbit-hole, they don't even realize one of the centers of Democrat power in the urban areas, has always been the city police departments.
Now, they are actively delegitimizing the police.
This will drive the police, and citizens desiring a peaceful existence, into the arms of the Republicans.
Seriously. If any cop is forbidden to enforce the law, he needs to find another job. If his job requires him to be a mere punching bag, and he continues to put himself into harm’s way ........ what does he expect?
I am heartened by the comments at this article and many other articles lately. I quess with the C19 lockdown there are now a lot of normal people with enough time on their hands to comment. Usually it’s only leftist slackers and professional leftist commenters.
I find it rather pathetic that these officers wear knickers and have girly-girl bicycles. Where is their manhood? Where is their resolve? They lost this battle two months ago when they didn’t shoot looters. They continue to lose this battle each day through their pussy tactics. They need to start using lethal force to defend themselves from attack. That will quell this insurrection. Their lack of action has cost entirely too much.

The whole purpose of these riots is to goad the police into killing a rioter so the Left can reclaim the moral high ground.
There is NO excuse for ANY police officer to consent to serve on any protective detail for any elected representative.
