Not sure what there is to admire about a country with such a repugnant history.

An article clearly written for the primary purpose of bashing the USA. Pure tripe.

What could possibly have caused the typical poll respondent to say he admires Deutschland? What’s to like about them? Well, let’s be honest... they do make some damned fine automobiles... and beers. And then there are the blond buxom young women in dirndls at Oktoberfest. Is any or all of that enough to put the nation entire (with its very sordid history) into the admired column? Because beyond the things I mentioned, the things to like about Germany are pretty limited.

casts more doubt on US secretary of state Mike Pompeos claim on Friday that the US was perfectly positioned to lead the free world Germany tried to lead the free world but WW-I and WW-III stopped them.

What is the percentage of Americans that give a **** what the rest of the world thinks of any other country?
I couldn’t care less if we were listed at the bottom. Actually it would mean we were doing something right.
That is not a slam a Germany. I’ve never been there but I bet it’s a great place to visit and still in many areas to live. It just doesn’t matter to me where the United States falls on the list and I doubt it matters to most Germans where they fall analyst

Wrong. Germany is experiencing some of the highest incidents of rapes among most EU nations. Take a guess why. I’ll give you 2 but you’ll only need 1.

The more I read this the more difficult to understand their criteria for “most admired”. This has got to be a bogus study from Denmark or any of the other socialist countries in the area. China at the top?

Youve obviously never lived in Germany. The women tend to be masculine, the men tend to be feminine. Passive aggressive behavior is normal - Seattle level on that front.
32 hour work weeks, little room for upward mobility, so they build in lots of paid vacation in order to keep you happy in your tiny flat.
Like the US, most rural German towns and people are much better.

Clearly. In other news, no one in the world wants to immigrate here, says Gallup.
Joe Biden is sane, too.

"The survey of a thousand adults in each of 135 countries..."
Looks like Germany could see many more incoming migrants. ;)
More sincerely, the big, global media companies have the most influence on foreign perceptions of the U.S.A. The report is no surprise.
