Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said Saturday he has tested negative for the coronavirus, based on a fourth test since he said July 7 that he had the virus.
"Good morning everyone," Bolsonaro wrote on Facebook after reporting that the test was "negative."
The 65-year-old leader didn't say when he did the new test. On Wednesday, he had tested positive for the third time.
Bolsonaro also posted a photo of himself with a box of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine, although it has not been proven effective against the virus.
Now that Bolsonaro is clear of the virus, he is expected to return to mingling in crowds as he used to do before his diagnosis. He had spent many weekends since the beginning of the pandemic in close proximity to supporters, sometimes without wearing a mask.
On Thursday, he was photographed without a mask while talking to some sweepers in the garden of the presidential residence.
Brazil, Latin America's largest nation, is one of the outbreak's epicenters. According to the Brazilian government, on Friday there were 85,238 confirmed deaths due to the new coronavirus. The country has 2,343,366 confirmed cases. The real numbers are believed to be higher.
On Monday, two more ministers in the Cabinet of Brazilian President said they have tested positive for the new coronavirus: the 65-year-old minister of citizenship, Onyx Lorenzoni, and Milton Ribeiro, the 62-year-old minister of education.
Bolsonaro's administration last week completed two months without a health minister.
The interim minister, Gen. Eduardo Pazuello, who had no experience in the field before April, is facing pressure to leave the job. He took over after his predecessor, a doctor and health care consultant, quit in protest over Bolsonaro's support for the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, a related drug, as a treatment for COVID-19.

Maybe the Test Kits SUCK
Notice even there the political pressure on anyone who promotes hydroxychloroquine.
It works (when combined with zinc) and they keep trying to keep people from taking it.
Well, no kidding. Most people who have it don't know they have it, and aren't tested.
Wonder if we can get some from Brazil!!!! I truly believe
this is what I would request if I was positive for the
covid bug. BUT if we could get doctor to prescribe it!
That is the big question....availability.
We would need to go underground to get the meds like
“ going to Canada” as President said we were doing with
expensive meds here in the states!

Always the bias added in. Well, The Who and CDC have not been proven effective in dealing with the virus, have not been proven to tell the truth, but have been proven to be incompetent.
That is the problem. Its widely available and cheap for lupus, they give it out like candy. But if they know you want it for the virus, the big pharmacies refuse to give it out even with a prescription. They are threatened, even the doctors are threatened. So they take it themselves as a preventative, stockpile it for their own families, but they hesitate to give it out to their patients.
But its the zinc that does the heavy lifting anyway. So I take my zinc every day, and hope for the best.

MOST OF THESE ARE VERY MILD OR ASYMPTOMATIC ( about 80% and up ). This is probably true everywhere else.

How unethical is it to say that you are planning to use it because you will be going to a malarial country?
It makes you wonder about the tests if he tested positive after testing negative.
We’ve seen it here, people who failed to show up for their tests received letters in the mail saying they had tested positive. That, and the episode where a hospital chain claimed 90% positive rate on their testing, only to find out later the real number was 9%.
Trump issued an order allowing its use for the virus. But the hospital boards and pharmacy boards have done and end run threatening the pharmacy chains and hospitals.
There was that doctor who did a few videos describing her fight to get it for her patients. Finally Texas issued an order allowing it, but I think she still has to work with the smaller non-chain pharmacies.

How’s the situation in the state of Texas now? Are Doctors now allowed to prescribe it for Covid-19?
What she did was simply refuse to specify what the ailment was. She said HEPA rules forbade her from revealing it. That works for any other ailment except if you want HCQ.
I saw an article, maybe here on FR, about a doctor whose 90+ year old mother got the virus. He smuggled the HCQ into her, and in a couple of days she recovered. He then apologized for breaking protocol, said he was wrong to do it, and the hospital itself issued a ban on HCQ. As if he’d rather his mother had died. Crazy. We keep reading, though, that doctors and nurses are taking it for themselves as a preventative while working with covid patients.
Legally its allowed but the chains are still resisting.
Whats disturbing is that almost no one had to die from this. We knew very early on what the effective combination was.
To prove it doesn’t work, they did tests on death-bed patients, but did not include zinc.
But doctors have reported that even in death bed cases, when you include the zinc, they’ve brought people back from the brink.
Every "journalist" that wrote this line needs to be doing an air dance at the end of this.
