Police are investigating an act of vandalism at Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's house.
"Defund OPD," "homes 4 all," and "blood on your hands" were all spray-painted on the garage, sidewalk and stone wall outside Mayor Schaaf's Oakland home overnight. Witnesses say 30 to 40 people dressed in black and wearing masks shot projectiles and set off fireworks around 2 a.m.
Neighbor Yakov Barton said, "I know there's a lot of unrest and frustration and I sympathize with that, but this was jarring and felt like to another level."
Harmeet Dhillon, Republican National Committeewoman, said "I think what it shows is that Libby Schaaf's policies are not really working for her city and I'm really sorry -- no American should be made to feel unsafe in their home. As a person, I feel sorry for her and, as a leader, I think she needs to do better."
This week, President Trump threatened to send federal troops into Oakland like he has in Portland.
The President declared, "Oakland is a mess. We are not going to let this happen in our country."

Come on now! It was street artists painting a mural. Who is Schaaf to judge what they paint, where they paint, and what message they paint? It almost seems that she isn’t down for the struggle.

Everybody is afraid to outright condemn the mobs, the lawlessness and the descent of our nation into tyranny. Their concerns are always couched with "I sympathize with you, BUT..." They want to be the last one eaten by the revolution.
What these mayors haven’t figured out yet is that THEY are in the way of the radicals quest for absolute power.

LOL, this happened to the Olympia WA mayor too. She was very supportive until her house was targeted. Suddenly the police were given more leeway. Funny how that happens.

Exactly right. They WERE useful up to a point because they let the mobs run wild. Now that the mobs are bigger, more aggressive and ready for the next big expansion, the mayors are no longer useful to them.
The lawless communist revolutions ALWAYS turns on their own.

Their house has been broken into three times. They now pay $700 a month, along with a group of neighbors for private security patrol on a 24/7 basis.
I was with them over the Fourth, they said that a small group of young blacks were going door to door asking if they wanted a 'Black Lives Matter' sign in their yard. If you said yes, you were asked for a donation. There was no direct threat made. But they did feel it was implied.
I have known them for 24 years and they have both always voted Democrat. Both are voting for Trump this year.
